Question, if I want to ditch the last flight and get a cheap one way ticket from yyz to NYC, will I get my luggage in Toronto? I know you get your luggage at your first point of entry in the US? Is it the same in Canada?

Hey Dan!! Family of 5 spring break Lax $353 each. I had a lot of trouble booking. Then I had to go on their website and it booked even cheaper. I couldn’t get the best deals cause we only could go for spring break. End of March. Search on google flights then go to Air Canada.

I’m traveling with my kids. I’m ok if they scatter them throughout the plane (will get a free babysitter). When i traveled in the past (with my kids) and were scattered, everyone on the plane was pretty easygoing about moving over… It was quite a chutzpa, that they didnt give us seats until we boarded…..

Connecting to a Domestic flight in Terminals 1 & 3
Toronto Pearson is your first point of entry into Canada. Therefore, even if your baggage is tagged through to your final destination, you are required to pick them up for Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) processing. Once you have been processed by CBSA, follow the signs for connections and drop off your bags at the Connecting Baggage Belt. Follow the or connections signs to your connecting gate. Flights departing from gates are located in Terminal 3. Flights departing from gates are located in Terminal 1. Please note you will be required to undergo security screening prior to entering the departure gate area.
I just flew from TLV to LAX via YYZ on Thursday. When we landed in YYZ we went through security and strait to US customs, never saw our bags and didn’t go through Canadian customs.
I think this is if you are connecting domestically in Canada? If connecting to the US I don’t know if we can collect our bags?

Dan or anyone know if I book with orbitz do they assign seats? On Air Canada I had to select seats (which didn’t end up going through after final payment info so I cooked with orbitz) and orbitz didn’t give me any options to select.
no they dont assign seats you need to wait until 24 hours before the flight when you check in to get free seats

Just a quick FYI for everyone who booked and may want to cancel… via ORBITZ
– If you call (844) 803-5576 ,1,2 from the number you put down when you booked the tickets (or the number on your account) the system will automatically find your reservations, tell you that they are still refundable for ‘x’ amount of hours and give you the option to “press 1 to cancel this reservation and get a refund right now”
(Pretty cool)
– If you call right now (like I just did at 11:55am) they will give you the standard call back option rather than waiting on hold.
“The estimated time that someone will call you back is 1 hour and 30 minutes”
