i was able to get them to let me order both sets that i ordered (two separate orders) form a different seller and they will refund me the difference.

Called and complained, they gave me $30, said that’s their limit on how much they can add to an account. They said the item was only available via Marketplace sellers, so they wouldn’t have the option to honor the original price unless Amazon sold it directly, and even then they would only be able to lower the price by $30. I’d rather have $30 credit than the this set at $30 off MSRP. Wondering if the $30 will be in addition to the $10 credit in the email.

Not easy to get the compensation. They need to speak to supervisor etc. and can give you a hard time.

Just spoke to customer rep. He wasn’t able to make an adjustment but after discussing it a few minutes he agreed to ship me a new set for full price and once I receive it I’ll get a refund for the difference. He made a note on my account so all I need to do it call back once the order is received.

@lovaamazon – that only works if you ordered more than 1! Those of us that only got one never got that email.

I called Amazon and the first person wasn’t helpful. So putting HUCA in practice, I called back and complained about how not receiving the knives was an inconvenience and that I was considering leaving Amazon Prime because the poor customer service. The woman was very nice and said since that set was out of stock from Amazon, they would send me the more expensive $100 set free of charge with free 1 day shipping. So I ended up with better knives and a $10 credit. Thanks Dan!

I called once and they offered me $20 additional. Then I called back again and they said they can only offer me an additional $15. I guess free $45 is not bad!

Okay guys. I think we should not abuse amazon. I orderd for $14 a thing that I really don’t need don’t mind having it but don’t need. Ended up getting $55 for nothing… I wouldn’t call again to get raisd for nothing…

Why do you guys go so far to complain, when everyone knows it was a price mistake. I’m with you all, may as well try to get the “deal”, if it goes through great, if not, who cares it was clearly an error. Some people here seem to take it as a personal offense when a company like amazon ends up canceling the order bc of a price error. I think its really disgusting how some behave. If you were a store owner and you made a clear price mistake on your site would you honor it if hundreds of people purchased the item causing you too lose thousands of dollars- I would bet the answer would be NO!..So why play HUCA? why even make the call and fight it? Its such a shame

I definitely respect your opinion but I’ll politely disagree this time.

Normally I don’t advocate asking for comp for a simple price mistake. However in this case Amazon acknowledged the mistake and emailed people that they were going to honor the price for one set.

For me this would be akin to UA emailing everyone that they would honor the 4 mile island glitch and then turn around a month later to say they changed their mind.

I don’t see the problem asking Amazon in this case to honor their promised set at the discounted price. Am I missing the boat here?
