These are bookable now online on United.com.

You can view a list all of the cities that United serves in Europe on this Wikipedia link. Or view United’s route map here or United’s interactive route map here.

Although the rules say that stopovers are no permitted and that open jaws are only valid for airports in the same region like JFK and EWR I searched for a flight using “multiple destinations” from Los Angeles to NYC for a week and then Newark to Paris and Paris back to Los Angeles and it priced out at just 48,000 miles.

Or from Newark to Zurich for a week and then from London to Los Angeles and finally from LA back to JFK is 48,000 miles as well.

dokn

can this be used to get to israel cheaper?

Savtie

Hi Dan,
I know tat there has been discussion about this before, but if you we’re to have only one credit card, which one would you have and why? We’ve had different cards over the years.. ( Marriott, united…) now we have southwest, because we think this is the best one to earn free flights. ( we think that is the best ” perk” to having one of those cards) please give us your insight…

Bentch

Sorry for the beginner question, but How do you search for open jaw/extended layovers? Did you just do a multi-city search with multiple segments? Please share any helpful info and how you entered it in to the search boxes. Thx

Dan

@dokn:
You can try using Avios to get from Europe to Israel with this, sure.

@Savtie:
Probably Starwood.

@Bentch:
I entered it exactly as you see it as 3 separate legs using multiple destinations.

Bentch

Thanks. So I can try and plan a trip of my own, in terms of layover time, open jaw and flight segments, what are the maximum amount allowed? Thanks again

Yitzy

@Dan: I must tell you about this one: “Open a Sam’s club membership account bet. Nov 23-25 and get a free $40 gift card!!! that’s like free account for a year!”

Dan

@Bentch:
There is no max.

@Yitzy:
No, that’s only if you open a $100 plus membership.

Yitzy

@Dan: What about this one: Galaxy s III for $0.96!!!!!! in Sam’s Club

bentch

so how do they calculate total miles for the trip? is there a breakdown per segment? thanks again.

Dan

@bentch:
It’s 48,000 miles to Europe during the promotion. You don’t pay per segment.

in israel

Yitzy

@Dan: Whats the cheapest mileage ticket from Europe to Israel?

Chaim

@Dan, are you sure that this promotion is not applicable to dates in the beginning of January, for example 1/2/2013-1/6/2013?

luv2travel

can I book a flight leaving before 3/13, but coming back after?

Me, Of-Course!

Ibought a ticket to Europe leaving before Jan 15 and returning after Jan 15 and it gave me discounted miles on my return trip, so it ended up costing me 54,000 miles instead of 60,000.. basically Igot the promotion for one of the ways of the ticked reserved for after Jan 15, hope this will help someone
