It works now. Looks like there was a bug earlier preventing the promo to be applied.

bad thing about these gift cards you can’t apply to your acct. have to buy something to apply it. I hope by the time I get there nothing happens to my gift card balance… always hear stories
I bought past April a number of Visa gift cards from Staples.com. The arrived w/ labels on them listing the phone number and site for activation. Non of them worked. The reps at the number said it’s a biz-to-biz phone wondering why I was given that number, they provided other phone numbers, and i tried activating also online, but they were not activated and reps at the other phone number said they should have been activated at the time of the sale… Called, chated and emailed Staples.
Email was not answered, chat said only phone reps can deal w/ this. Phone reps contacted the gift card company and promissed me activation within 2 hours and a confimration email and phone call
It was never activated, no call, no email. Staples and the gift card company kept throwing me from one to the other. Today I phoned Staples again, they contacted again the gift card, promissed activation within 4 hours, that of course was never done. I ended up cancelling all the cards after 10 days waiting for delivery and another week of wasting my time and energies.
