@dan I bought something using the $40 off (using 1 amex point ) & the next day Amazon lowered the price on the item by $42. Do I have any recourse to get the $40 off from the new lower price? I think that If I were to return the item & reorder it at the lower price I will not be able to use the $40 off amex off again & it will be wasted. Any ideas will be appreciated. Thanks.

Finally targeted for the Amex one but only got the 10%/$10
I clicked to see if I was targeted and it came thru as “YES”.
Then I tried to place the order on Amazon website. I used the 1 point (as you suggested ) as payment, but the discount is not coming thru. The next option is to “PLACE THE ORDER) I do not want to take a chance that the discount will be applied after I place the order. PLEASE GUIDE ME TO THE CORRECT PROCEDURE. Thank you very much.
if it doesn’t show up during check out, it will not be applied after placing the order.
a few things to check: 1. did you click enroll on the page that stated you are targeted? if not it won’t work.
2. the discount is only applied to things sold by amazon
