Instacart markup can be 9-20%, so 40% off is still excellent.
Money is fungible, so I’d rather get the full 40% on uber or whatever. I’ve never used instacart, and get my groceries other ways without the inordinate markup.
I am considering using instacart once per sapphire card to get some of that benefit, but that’s it.
