Israel has extended its ban on foreign nationals through at least 8:59pm on December 1st according to this NOTAM:

Israel closed their borders to foreign nationals back in March and they have extended the ban on a monthly basis since then.

There are some exceptions to the rule, including:

  • Parents, grandparents, siblings, spouses of siblings, as well as sibling’s infant children can go to Israel for a wedding, bar mitzvah, or bas mitzvah.
  • Grandparents can fly to Israel a month before an expected birth and can stay a month after birth.
  • Students applying through their qualified institution.

Returning Israelis and foreigners who qualify for an exception to enter Israel must continue to go into home quarantine for 14 days unless they have only been to designated green countries in the past 14 days.

Back in June, some 48% of DansDeals poll respondents thought Israel would reopen by October and 68% of respondents thought Israel would reopen in 2020. That seems like wishful thinking at this point.

When do you think Israel will open its borders to Americans?

Who would gain from such reciprocity?

There are some other exceptions

1. Aliyah
2. Certain business travel
3. Diplomats making peace

Every poll that has been posted on this topic, the majority has voted for the soonest option.
and every time they were wrong.
Unless the Govt falls, there’s no chance that they’ll open before pesach.

Its very clear that all closures only work until you reopen and the only country to absolutely get rid of covid which is nz doesnt allow anyone else in and doesnt allow their citizens out. As soon as anyone opens covid explodes again . This cycle continues in Europe all over and Israel etc. Eventually people will realize that only a vaccine or herd immunity will end this cycle.

Srulky

This has become ridiculous already.

It would make “semi sense” if Israel wouldn’t allow Israelis to leave to the USA! The first thing the meshulachim do is head to Brooklyn and Monsey before returning home!

Dan, I heard that uncles and aunts nephews and nieces can also enter for a wedding. do you know anything about it?
