I’m not eligible yet for some reason.l. however, I got a free one last year as a Google 1 member. Which can be accessed via going to the Google 1 account and clicking on benefits.

Sorry, I tried my hardest… But no.
I sent several emails to the CEO of Google, messaged the promotions manager and even asked Mark Zuckerberg if he could pull some strings, but alas it was to no avail.
There seems to be an issue with your eligibility as a Google user per se, not just with this specific promotion. Apparently, in order to qualify for a Google account it is necessary to possess a certain amount of cynicism. Not much. But just enough to take you out of the category of “naive enough to sell the Brooklyn bridge”.
If you don’t believe me look for yourself. It says it right there in that fine print agreement that you just clicked agree and proceed without actually reading.
Don’t ask me how I know that you didn’t read it. It was very simple. It took one phone call to the NSA who rerouted me to the CIA official that helped me isolate your computer and online movements.
