Plot twist – saved from Covid, dead from diabetes

Don’t die of COVID but rather die of obesity – wicked smart marketing well designed for the fattest country in the world!

NTorch

I’ll take yours.

This is a little disturbing:

“If you have made the personal decision to not receive the COVID vaccine, please visit us on Mondays, 3/29/21 ā€“ 5/24/21, to receive a free Original GlazedĀ® doughnut and a medium brewed coffee to get your week off to a good start.”

Huh?

What is disturbing about that?

R

We want to motivate people to get the covid vaccine. Here a company wants to ensure the woke policy doesn’t file a lawsuit because they weren’t being fair and equal.

gavinar

Because offering an incentive to undergo a medical procedure is technically illegal and a violation of many informed consent laws.

Avi2

They are trying to get everyone eligible by being able to check the obesity box for special health conditions

Cholov alum. Questionable kashrus.

In the nyc area it is certified by the KOA from Passaic- EXTREMELY reliable hashgacha. Please donā€™t spread rumors.

Dave

Rk, let that individual enjoy his parve stale heimish branded cookies. I’ll take the fresh hot KK doughnut out of the over.

ChapsTheMatzav

Not its not.

Avid Krispy Kreme Eater

I have not called in about a year, but in the past the CRC (Chicago) recommends the KOA for Krispy Kreme. You can give them a call if you are at all curious.

Lines for Krispy Creme will be longer than the vaccine lines

Worth the weight šŸ˜‰

Oh no this is dangerous. A new Krispy Kreme opened up 2 blocks away from my apt

R

Not sure you should be walking around with your vaccination card for this purpose (in case you lose it)….would be better if they accepted a photo

Anonymous

So, just to confirm… On Mondays I can also get a coffee with my donut if I refuse to show my vaccine card, every other day I get a donut for getting vaccinated.
Am I allowed to double up on Mondays by not showing card and then showing it? This would be 2 donuts and a coffee

J

Just confirmed, that the Krispy Kreme is giving away one free glazed donut. I assume they wanted me to get some coffee or extra donuts, but I am more than satisfied with one donue.

Is their Pesach hechsher a good hechsher? I don’t see it on CRC.

Dave

For their coffees and teas? No good on Pesach.

Carl B Maltzman

Coffee and tea I can have at home. I want their donuts to be kosher for Pesach.

Texas Totty

New thread on DDF selling donuts from those who are makpid on Chalav Yisroel.

Dave

Side question. I’ve always wondered why there are so fee heimish branded dairy dessert selections? Most of their doughnuts and pies are all parve, and *taste* parve.

Texas Totty

1. Chalav Yisroel is more expensive. 2. Pareve pastries can be used at events and after meals without fleishig conflicts. 3. Dairy baked products need to be identifiable as such. Prob more reasons that I didn’t think of.
There are many delicious (if pricey) options. In Lakewood, for example, there’s a whole industry of boutique miniature bakers. And siegelmanscakes.com will always be top of the lineā€”and they ship nationwide.

Eric from Dallas

Are you sure? Their (mostly broken) website says “Nationwide Shipping
(Currently unavailable )”. Cakes look good though.
