US Bank has launched the Altitude Connect Visa Signature Card.

Signup bonus:

You can earn 50,000 bonus points for opening a US Bank Altitude Connect Visa Signature Card and spending $3,000 in 120 days. Those points are worth $500 cash back!

This card is a step up from the US Bank Altitude Go Visa Signature Card which offers 20,000 bonus points, but has no annual fee.

Annual fee:

The $95 annual fee is waived for the first year with the intro offer

Card earnings:

  • 4 points per dollar on travel
  • 4 points per dollar on gas
  • 2 points per dollar on groceries and grocery delivery
  • 2 points per dollar on streaming
  • 2 points per dollar on dining
  • 1 point per dollar elsewhere.
  • There are no foreign transaction fees.

Point Value:

You can redeem points at a value of 1 cent each for statement credits or cash sent to US Bank checking or savings accounts.

You can also redeem points to offset the card’s annual fee at a value of 1 cent each.

If you enroll in real-time rewards you’ll get 500 bonus points and you can then choose to instantly pay yourself back for purchases at a value of 1 cent each.

Alas, you can’t transfer these points into miles, so this card won’t be part of a spending and redemption strategy like the Chase Quinfecta. Essentially it’s a cash back card, but with some unique perks and categories for a cash back card.

Global Entry/Pre-Check Fee Refund:

It costs $85 to apply for a 5 year TSA Pre-Check membership which makes flying pleasant again. Shorter lines, no need to remove your shoes, belt, jacket, or hat. You can keep your laptop and small liquids inside your carry-on. And you go through a good old fashioned metal detector instead of assuming the position in the body scanner.

It costs $100 to apply for a 5 year Global Entry membership which lets you bypass the customs line. If you have Global Entry you also get TSA Pre-Check for free.

If you charge either on your card the fee will be refunded, once every 4 years.

You can read more more about the differences in this post.

My whole family has Global Entry and it sure makes traveling a whole lot easier!

$30 Annual Streaming Bonus:

Put a streaming service on your card for 11 consecutive months and you’ll get a $30 statement credit. You can keep earning this $30 bonus by continuing to charge a streaming service on your card.

Plus, you earn double points on streaming.

Qualifying Streaming Merchants:

  • Amazon Music Unlimited
  • Apple Music
  • AT&T TV Now
  • Disney+
  • Google Music
  • HBO Max
  • Hulu
  • Netflix
  • Pandora
  • SiriusXM
  • Slacker Radio
  • Sling TV
  • Spotify
  • Tidal

Cell Phone Protection

When you pay your monthly wireless bill with your card, you can be reimbursed up to $600 for damage to, theft of or an involuntary and accidental parting of your eligible cell phone. Protection is subject to a $100 deductible per claim.

Does Youtube Premium count as a streaming service?

So you get $100 TSA credit and $150 in streaming credit, and potentially some likely hard-to-use cell phone insurance (that doesn’t even replace your higher end phone) for $380 for the first 5 years? And some cash back? Not totally compelling to pay the annual fee for me…

Jim

$150 in streaming credit? Looks like just $30.

Can you transfer points to matmid still from US BANK?

TC

No

Yossi

But can still use the points for travel (to Israel) through US bank rewards program. You don’t need Matmid for that

i called them to ask they didn’t give me a firm answer they just told me it depends on the offers they have that time, Maybe someone that already has a card from them and tried doing it can come in with this information.
