Pretty good deal. The problem is that Honors points have become really devalued in the past year. A lot of Hilton redemptions are 2x what they were in 2020. IHG points — which used to be worth about the same — are now worth almost twice what Honors points are worth. Still, if you can leverage this for TWO free nights — this promo and the regular deal with Surpass cards — it can be a reasonable deal.

To put it in simpler terms, you normally get a free night after spending $15K on an Honors Surpass card. That was a reasonable deal when Honors points were worth a half cent but, given last year’s bad devaluation, is probably not worth it to most folks. There’s more value in putting the spend on another card. But now that free night can be sweetened with an EXTRA free night — not so easy, though, because you’ve got to put a lot of spend on the card in either Nov/Dec or Jan/Feb. Might be worth it, though, for folks who particularly value the REALLY expensive Hiltons that cost 80K or more points and you’ll use the “anywhere” certs, and don’t mind that the regular points you’ll accumulate aren’t worth so much.
Would this be on top of the free night with 15k spend on the Hilton Surpass or Business cards (which is based on calendar year)? Meaning if you spend 15k between now and the end of the year you would actually get 2 free nights (or from Jan 2022 to Feb 2022)?
Best place to use in NYC area is the Conrad in my opinion

I just got a free night on my biz card with expiration of 12/31/22. Any chance of having that extended so I could use in January 2023 (1 month later)?
If not extended officially, does my expiration date get pushed if I use certificate, then cancel & rebook for new later date?
