Can you get similar pricing from different cities, where El AL doesn’t fly to, and connect on (I’m assuming) either JetBlue or Delta? Or would you need to purchase a separate ticket to get to an EL AL city?
Yes, there are codeshare deals from other cities as well.
You can definitely purchase codeshare flights with Delta of JetBlue. Prices will vary, but can sometimes be cheaper than the nonstops.

You can request a voucher for the original ticket and buy the new lower priced one.

You should be able to request a voucher for your current flights if they are not lite tickets and then rebook with those vouchers once you receive them, or you can call them and find out how much the cancellation fee is, if applicable. it can take up to 7 days to receive a voucher so no guarantee what will be available.
