-United normally charges 70K miles round-trip to North Asia (China, South Korea, Mongolia, and Taiwan). With this sale it will be 52,224 miles.
-United normally charges 80K miles round-trip to South Asia ( Bangladesh, Bhutan, Brunei, Cambodia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Laos, Macau, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam). With this sale it will be 62,224 miles.

-Book by August 22.

-Travel is valid between August 29-April 30, 2017.

-Blackout dates: December 9-February 3, 2017

If you fly one leg within the promo timeframe and one leg outside of that timeframe you will still save 8,888 miles on the leg that falls within the promo timeframe. In other words, an award from February 1-8 would be 61,112 or 71,112 miles.

-Not valid for one-way travel or stopover travel.

-Valid for coach travel only.

Be sure you are logged into United.com if you are elite or if you have select United cards with an annual fee like the Chase United Explorer card, as that gives you greatly expanded saver coach award space and last-seat standard award space in every class. It will only be reflected in the award calendar if you are logged in and you will only get free checked bags and priority boarding if you use that card.

Is there a chance United would be willing to retroactively apply this promotion? Flew to Asia in late July.

Dan, I’m not seeing this. I’m looking at a EWR-ICN RT in coach on 9/15 to 9/25. It’s displaying 70K miles (although I’m below that number so perhaps it will revise down if I had enough). Would you mind confirming? Also, does the special apply to Japan also or no?

    Dan,

Any idea if this is for flights to JNB via South African Airways…or is this only United?
