350 and a $20 VGC via eBay dd for the 32 gb

@Yitz: Google’s phone are always factory unlocked, so they work with most carriers including Sprint.

Anonymous

@James: I would assume regular ‘Prime’ return policy which is alway great.

Anonymous

@Mirbachur: that’s only for the 16G version though.

Mirbachur

@Anonymous: they have both

Thoughts on Fi?

Hey Dan,

I (and likely many others) am seriously considering switching from Verizon to Fi. Wondering your thoughts on Fi in general, and compared to Verizon or the other big carriers. Any major reasons not to switch?

A writeup on this would likely be very useful to many.

Thanks!

Dan

@Thoughts on Fi?:
I just activated Fi today, but I don’t plan on using it domestically as I’m grandfathered into unlimited data with Verizon.

I paused my service and will use it when I travel abroad.

But it seems like an excellent option if you don’t have (and abuse) unlimited data.

Avi

@Dan: Can you use fi internationally to make calls or just the data works internationally?

Dan

@Avi:
Both.

Avi

@Dan: did some research on fi, international calls incoming/outgoing on cellular are 20c/min, text – free, data – $10.00 gb. If the bulk of your calls are over data like whatsapp then it is a great deal using fi.

@Yitz: smith?

Dan, I’m grandfathered into Verizon’s unlimited data, but it sounds like they plan on adding additional charges to it once your current contract runs out. Are you still under a contract? Mine runs out this summer and Fi is a definite contender (although I’m waiting to see what phones will be available then, I hear HTC may be doing the next batch of phones).

Dan

@Nighthawk700:
I have a business plan, so my unlimited data is staying at just $23/month.

Dave

@Dan
Do you have a 5x? Can you give any insight if it’s a good phone?

Zack

Can I use Fi on this phone as a traveling phone plan, that means only activate the sim (for that month) when Im in the states? (I live in Canada)
