Dan do I have access to the google play store with this phone ?

question

does this have mifi or can i use it as a mobile hotspot ?

Anonymous

can these phones be used for metro pcs?
Do they need to be unlocked first.

Thanks Dan

Anonymous

@Dan1: kind of, but you have to be a little bit of a techie to do it. And mayday will not help you with it. Search Google how to sideload Google play store on amazon phone.

jacob

Hey Dan

I just bought the phone .
When does the amazon prime membership go into effect.

shlomo

These can be used for MetroPCS. The phone is already unlocked.

tehill

Can I use this phone in Israel with Golan?

Ashi

Can this be used in Canada?

maz

Spoke to Amazon customer service.
When you register your phone it will automatically extend the 1 year prime membership!!

Delta

Does anyone know if this phone has fingerprint security to get into the phone?

Anonymous

Can the amazon prime be amazon mom instead?

Jim

Considering the one year Prime, the cost is about $30. Does that seem to be an OK price for a mini-mini-Tablet, which is what this would be if you don’t get phone service and only used wi-fi. Anyone else considering using it like this?

Abe

What’s the catch? There’s no way Amazon is making money on this. Any explanations Dan?

Mark

@Delta, it does not have fingerprint security to unlock the phone.

Joel

If I’m in the middle of an Amazon prime year, will it be extended from today’s date, or from the day my year is finishing(in another 6 months)?

Dan

@Joel:
It adds a full year.

I have the phone

1. It does not have fingerprint security. 2. I use it as a mini mini tablet. It does ok.

The most annoying thing is that there is no back button.

I used this phone in Israel no problems and got LTE service. However when I called Golan customer service to use the phone in Switzerland the women on the phone could not stop laughing when she was told my phone was made by Amazon I guess it’s like hearing you have a Walmart phone or a piglet Wiggly phone. I thought the kindle was popular worldwide but maybe people don’t associate it with amazon. anyway other than that it’s an ok phone. I’d love to learn how to root it so it just is a android phone but I think I updated the os and can’t root at this time. I think Amazon took a bath on these and with version 2 coming soon they want to unload them

Capt fred

These are unlocked. Also I got a 64gb even though I was suppose to get a 32gb

For those who want to make the fire phone more usable, apparently there is this site http://fixfire. blogspot. com/

I just ordered my phone Sunday, so I haven’t actually tried using their instructions myself yet.
Good luck!
