-New members can join Hyatt and automatically receive Platinum status. Current members must call to register for Platinum status.
-You will remain Platinum for 180 days. If you spend 5 nights in a Hyatt hotelwithin that timeframe your status will be extended through 02/29/12.
-If you spend 15 nights in a Hyatt hotel within 180 days you will receive top-tier Diamond status through 02/29/12.
Among other benefits Platinums and Diamonds receive free internet access at Hyatt’s worldwide. Diamonds receive 4 confirmed Suite upgrades annually.

I am currently platinum, but I want to get the “15 nights to Diamond” what should I do? Call the and ask for a platinum trial when I’m already platinum?

Dan, on their website it says stay 5 nights and it’s good until february 2011 not february 2012….same with the diamond status, I believe. You may want to double check that.

I called and they upgraded me to platinum for 180 day trial. If I stay the 5 nights they said it will be good until 2/28/2011 not 2012

From the “promo terms and conditions:”
“To maintain Platinum membership member must complete 5 eligible nights at any Hyatt hotel or resort worldwide, within 180 days of enrollment. To achieve Diamond membership member must complete 15 eligible nights. Members that achieve qualifying nights in 2009 will receive tier status through February 2011. Members that achieve qualifying nights in 2010 will receive tier status through February 2012.”

When does this offer expire? I want to use it, but not sure if I’ll have the stays in the next 6 months.

I was platinum. I called up and asked for a diamond trial with this promo and they agreed to do it. My account says Diamond now. This is in addition to getting the free diamond trial last year. Hyatt sure is generous!

I called them, and they said they couldn’t give me instant Diamond. I know I coulda just called back, but I figured I would just sign up for the trial, and not bother.

Sorry for 3 posts in a row, but I just logged in AND I’M DIAMOND! Even though I was told on the phone that I wont be. I’m so pumped.
So I guess if you are already Platinum, you will automatically be upgraded to Diamond.
