My whole family got this email and many readers forwarded it to me, so I assume that it is widely targeted. If you didn’t get it you may want to check your spam filter or contact AMEX regarding “Bonus ID 3425.”
You do need to opt into email communications in order to receive these kinds of promos. You can do this by logging into your AMEX online account and clicking on “update email settings” under account services.
You must spend the $50 in one transaction at Amazon by this coming Monday to qualify!
Here are the promo details:

Is there any reason in the free printer deal that i cant buy the camera and printer, print out the receipt, and then quickly cancel the camera b/c no upc is required? Even if i can’t cancel the camera i can still return it and get the $70 printer rebate, right? Then i will have a printer and 1,070 starwoods points all for free!
You may be able to do that in order to get a free printer, but the bonus SPG points will be revoked once you get the refund from amazon.
To Schneur: with this you can buy something that you would normally get at a supermarket like for example diapers or baby wipes or whatever you please, and then get a bonus of 1000 SPG point… you arent paying for any starpoint here.

why would the points be revoked? you’re getting a rebate check, your not getting a refund on your credit card.

Is this 1 transaction per a credit card. If I split my purchase and charge $50+ x2 will I get 1000 x2?
It’s one bonus per credit card for spending $50 on the credit card from Amazon in one transaction.
I have both the Starwood Business and Personal cards. Can I get 2 * 1000 points if I purchase 2 $50 certificates (one per card)? Even if I never received the ‘solicited’ Email?
If you return the camera, which was your original purchase then the $50+ will be refunded to your CC. As such, the rules of this promo is that if you return the purchse- then the free 1K starpoints will be revoked.
The camera refund would be $16.78, the charge for the printer for $70 is still there.
Just called (I had not received the email, but I checked online and for some reason I had “do not send me email” marked) and was told that I could not get the bonus as it was only for solicited members. š
