i have this computer – a few notes:
1. if you’re OK with refurbished you can pick it up on the lenovo outlet website for $370 occasionally, so keep an eye out.
2. windows 8 without a touchscreen is downright annoying, consider downgrading to windows 7.
3. It’s a very nice computer. It’s not the thinnest ultrabook out there, but the battery life is good, the keyboard is absolutely top-notch (well spaced keys, good click, the stuff that makes a keyboard geek drool), the screen is very nice and bright, and the sound quality is outstanding.

1. I wouldn’t buy a used computer unless I was saving at least half. If you have an AMEX business card that’s only ~$100 off.
2. Windows 8 isn’t bad once you add the start button back. There are lots of programs out there that will do that for you.
What’s their return policy?

Not better as the thin and light computers like this are usually more expensive whereas 15.6″ computers are usually cheaper.

They’re completely different computers. A 13″ is portable (will fit on a plane tray, etc)
A 15″+ laptop is too big to shlep around IMHO. It’s still a good deal, but it’s not a “better” deal as they aren’t comparable computers.

i don’t think the .edu 10% discount works – it worked on other computers which weren’t already “discounted” as this one is, but did not work on this.
