hendel

if one is traveling internationally where there are 2 free bags anyway, (for example, to australia), does this mean that with the continental card you can receive a third bag free?

shlomo

does the delta card give free baggage if it closed

Deal guy

With the Amex Plat, how do you get $400 in bag fee refunds, as opposed to just $200?

Dan

@hendel:
Nope.

@shlomo:
Dunno.

@Deal guy:
$200 before 12/31 and another $200 next calendar year.

Hillel

So Amex doesn’t give 400 in refunds a year only the first year with using refund and December gives u 400 then second year u r get nothing nd eachnyearbafter only 200?

Jack

The 2 free bags with Continental Presidential Plus card, is it 50 lb per bag or 70 lbs?

Miles

Does the $99 companion ticket mean that we get a free companion flight for only $99 or are there restrictions? I thought it meant that we receive $99 off a companion ticket but I guess i misread the offers that Delta sends me.

bluto

Don’t forget the US Airways Mastercard from Barclays

Dan

@Hillel:
Huh?
They give $200 back every calendar (Jan-Dec) year.
With 1 annual fee you can get $200 in refunds the first calendar year and $200 the 2nd calendar year.

@Jack:
It used to be 70, seems like its just 50 now though.

@Miles:
You can bring a companion with you for just $99!
I think the paid ticket must cost at least $200.

@bluto:
Where does it say that card gives free luggage?

Lev

I have the Delta Amex Plat., the only good thing is the free 2nd ticket. I’m probably the only loser paying $150 for the card.

Dan

@Lev:
As long as you use the free companion ticket the card pays for itself. Especially with the free luggage.
I wouldn’t spend much on the card as you would do better with spending on Starwood or Premier Rewards Gold.

df

booked a partner reward trip through continental.com with continental miles and the continental MC, but flying US airways. will i need to pay for a checked bag in that case?

Shua

Which would you recommend to get, the Chase United MileagePlus Explorer Visa, or the Chase Continental OnePass Plus Mastercard… Thanks alot for all these posts, they are greatly appreciated!

PT

How do i get fee refunds on amex platinum?

tmi

with the amex business platinum, you noted a boatload of signup miles. IN your link it doesn’t show them. ARe you referrring to the forum boards where they describe the need to call up MR and request them with a code, or are there other ways?
I was offered 100/mo credit for first 4 months if I spend 5K per month. Nothing about miles though.
And any ideas where to spend the 5K/month now that we are post mint days.

RW Scott

Have a Delta Gold American Express. Nothing in write-up says you get a free companion ticket, but you state that is so. What am I missing? Trying to decide whether to pay $95 to renew.

Dan

@RW Scott:
Why don’t you call them?

mo

dan, time to update this plz
