Update: DDF user lubaby points out that you can take an Uber to/from long-term parking at JFK and take the free AirTrain from there to/from the terminal.

If you’re new to Uber you can signup via this referral link.

Uber is testing a flat-rate service in multiple cities.

You can buy a 30 day pass for $10 that includes 20 flat-fare rides or for $20 that includes 40 flat fare rides.

After you buy the pass you can ride in UberPool for $1.99-$3.99 depending on the city or in UberX for $3.99- $5.99 depending on the city.

In most cities the maximum value per ride is $30. In other words if your fare is $30 and you live in a $3.99 zone then you’ll pay $3.99 for the $30 ride. If your ride is $40 you’ll pay $13.99 for the ride.

In some cities there are higher or lower limits and I note those below.

Flat fares say that they aren’t valid “to or from designated airports” (though based on past promotions that excluded airports, you should be able to ask a driver to drop you off at an airport and continue the ride to somewhere nearby or start a ride from somewhere nearby and pick you up from an airport).

The pass expires after 30 days or after your 20 or 40 rides have been used. You can’t buy a new pass until your old pass expires or is fully used.

There are a limited number of passes for sale in each city, I’ll update cities below as they sell out.

Karen

Just noticed this morning and already used it! Amazing!

Sam

Sure beats the Subway, in for 1.

Jacob

In the New York City version, if I go from Brooklyn to monsey is that included in the much package for $6 for that ride?

ShmuliT

Just to clarify, you wrote, “You can’t buy a new pass until your old pass expires or is fully used.”
Based on their faqs in the app about purchasing more than one package, it says you can pre-purchase a package once you have 15 days left. This means if you use your 20 rides, you can purchase another 20, but can only start using them once your initial 30 days have passed.

Anonymous

I guess this is gonna kill Via ?

Miriam

Really happy about this, they had it in Manhattan a while ago but sure glad they expanded it.

Hymie

This is great. Tried it in NYC but I got quoted $19 for a ride saying “flat rate plus overage” Any idea how to avoid the overage?

Brooklynite

Just bought it for nyc did not say anything about full or whatever

Anonymous

U can only ride in 5 boro and up to $30 value.. if trip is more the $30 they will charge u the difference..

@Yehuda

IF my math is correct, it’s not really “from $1.99/ride” if you also had to pay $10 or $20 for the package. 🙂

Shaul

Trying to sign up for MIA (live in NYC but seems to be worth it to grab for vacation) but it says unavailable. Any idea how to get it pushed through?

MiamiYid

unavailable in Miami

AROCKS1

@Shaul- Wondering the same thing…Myabe Dan could share some persuading tips…😊😉

Zal

Nyc includes Brooklyn?

Mountain Man

It seems Denver is out but this should be great for an upcoming trip to NYC. I imagine I can take a shuttle to the LGA car rentals and then just pick an Uber up from there to Manhattan.

Mendy

Will these rides work with the 10$ off promos…?

Anonymous

@Jacob: Dream on. Look at the service area. It doesn’t include NJ or Update NY.

Julie Mackie

What does this mean for drivers…?

Melech

Started using it already, honestly incredible. And if you select 2 riders it doesn’t charge an extra dollar on uber pool

Anonymous

@Hymie: There is no way. You pay the overage if the normal cost of the ride is more than $20.

Anonymous

@Mountain Man: @Mountain Man: Yes or you can just a few minutes to a few blocks away from the airport so you don’t have to wait for the shuttle (also then you’re not misusing the shuttle). Keep in mind if the ride if over $30 (the normal Uber price) you pay the difference. So for far rides it really isn’t flat rate just discounted.

I’m trying to add my CSR to Uber and it asks me to verify the card by taking a picture of it and pulling the card number from it. However it won’t recognize the CSR card number. Anyone know what to do?

Na Nach

thanks for the Hat tip I posted this on form at 8:55 am

Ariella

Why mention that ewr is excluded if the nyc offer doesn’t include NJ? All it did was get my hopes up.

Anonymous

DDF user lubaby is correct but the flat rate is only valid of rides up to $30. Any amount of $30 will be charged. It can still be a good deal but you can get to Midtown from JFk for $7.75 in about an hour on public transportation.

Anonymous

@Anonymous: I mean to say you just WALK a few block from LGA and then request the Uber.

insider

I wonder if I could use it for uber pool with 2 people

evan

‘…that you can take an Uber to/from long-term parking at JFK and take the free AirTrain from there to/from the terminal..

what would be the advantage to taking uber from long term parking at jfk?

bob

Wow! I will try it on the way home this afternoon. It beats the express bus fare.

Anonymous

@Ariella: It does include a small part of NJ (the Jersey City, Hoboken area).

Anonymous

@evan: @evan: B/c JFK is excluded but the JFK Long Term Parking (Lefferts Blvd) isn’t excluded.

Super Uber Deal

I signed up this morning in NYC, and was able to apply one of the $10 coupon from other day off of the $5.99. I wasnt using all 5 by Sunday or Monday so it made sense

kareem

Can the rides be used at all hours of the day? or certain times only? NYC

Anonymous

@Anonymous: got it, thanks!

EJB

@Anonymous:

-1. No part of NJ is included

Eli

If I buy this on my chase sapphire rewards card, will it automatically go towards the $300 travel credit?

Uber Guy

Hyatt Regency O Hare is slightly outside the zone. Would it work to get shuttle to HR and then call Uber? Just curious for a trip coming up.

Anonymous

is it available in new jersey

Eric

Any tips on getting dropped off at EWR? Will the driver look at me funny if I ask him to leave the trip running for an extra five minutes after I get dropped off?

Ahmed

Hi there.. I have a friend in Las Vegas that is using flat fares even though it’s says on website it’s not available in my city.. Anyone know how she would have got it??

scott n

I live in new rochelle. can i use this to get to the new york city border, then get charged for the remaining distance to new rochelle

Anonymous

@Shaul: did you get it to work?

Izzy

What is Uber pool?

Terry

Chicago is sold out.

Joe

Why don’t This working for New York City anymore it says will notify you when it’s available

Anonymous

Anonymous

eddie

Uber packages no longer available in nyc

RF

How simple would it be to skirt the $30 limit by ending trip and starting a new one? Can your driver grab you when you call a new trip?

H

I just purchased a 20 ride package for $10 up front fee in nyc. 2/5/2017 at 12:08am
