Update, 5/2: We flagged to Chase that the Hyatt card wasnāt showing as eligible for this offer. Chase responded that they have identified and fixed the issue. Sure enough, I was able to register our Hyatt cards on our personal and business profiles!
My Instacart+ free trial now expires in October 2030.
Update, 5/1: While you canāt register multiple of the same card type to the same Instacart account, you can register different cards to both your personal and business profile:
- Co-brand offer for personal profile
- Ink offer for personal profile
- United offer for personal profile
- Co-brand offer for business profile
- Ink offer for business profile
- United offer for business profile
Still have more of the same cards? You can open additional Instacart accounts to use those credits!

once per account im assuming?
ERROR THE CARD WAS DECLINED whenever I try linking themā¦
I can get 3 free months and $20 per card? If Iām currently in middle of a paid membership, do the 3 free months start on my membership expiration date?
What I read was the paid membership is paused during the trial ā then your paid membership resumes ā I have Quest which offers 50% annual membership after the trial ā
So Iām planning on waiting til free trial is over them activating my Biz on the that account in Theory I should get an additional three months for free ā but Iām kinda of thinking of doing a 2nd account just for the Biz and canceling before the paid membership (25% off) and then adding the card to the other Instacart account ā you just have to pay with the card to get the the $10/$5 credit. We have free pickup on $35 orders near us ā so it kinda of is worthwhile- I just hope Costco starts selling the GC again.
@Leah
Correction ā you can stack the trials ā the paid still pauses till your free trial(s) end ā I just added a personal and a biz to a new account for P2 (actually old but never used) and renewal is now Nov 1 ā but well worth the $99 for the $240 *2 from CIC and CIU
Pls remund me . Whk gers free $10 or $20 monthly ? Is ir membership fee or off purchase ?
Ink Cash worked for me for regular Instacart account.
Same here,
Just click on: Maybe Later
Ink . Unirted get $10 off purchase ? What if i ha e 2 cards ? $10 off each ?
āYou can only register 1 of each card type, so if you have multiple of the same card, youāll need to open additional Instacart accounts.ā
Can you have one card for 3 months to get the credits, then remove that and add another card for 3 months to get that cardās credits or do you need to open addāl accounts to do this?
@Dan
Do you have to have an actual business email for a business account?
Thatās wild I never realized the Inks had $20 off ā thats $240 ona no AF card ā can your register a CIC, CIU and CIP all on same account and get $60 am month?
TIA
I just used a business unlimited and it worked.
Dan, the link says it is Ink Business Cash and Ink Business Unlimited. Is the Preferred part of the deal too?
@Diana I had the same question and just clicked through the above link and it doesnāt include CIP
Only CIC, CIU and Ink business cash card (I think the older version)
Can the instacart+ free trial be stacked
No, it gets replaced by card added so if you had a Quest with a 50% off annual fee and replaced with an Ink you would get three free months but lose the 50% discount for InstaCart+ membership. But if you already have a paid sub ā then the Paid is pause during the 90 day Trial
Tried linking Ink Cash, says card not eligible. Also, no Ink cards are listed as eligible cards on the website. Are Ink cards only for a business account?
For the others: You get a $10 credit once a month in your account. Quest gets a $10 + $5, Club gets $10 x2.
@AE
Use the link above the 2nd link after Co-branded cards -I used it on a personal account ā it offered (wanted) setting up a business profile ( but you can skip at bottom). I did it earlier an already ordered (Note ā I used a Private window and a VPN set to Seattle (Iām PDX) ā My order was cancelled ā until I verified my ID (P2) had to upload payment card showing name and last four as well as DL with Bday and DL # and address redacted ā took about 10 min to get reactivated ā then was able to re-add and order with $20 discount.
This is the link to activate INks but use the other Co-branded even for other Biz cards (IHG/SW/Etc).
Link above: āYou can enroll select business cards in the benefit here and earn 3 months of Instacart+ plus $20 in monthly credits through 12/31/27. This appears to apply to Instacart Business only.ā
Wow, that looks like it worked! Thanks! An extra $40 per month + 6 more months free!
Are you getting $40 on one account? Or $20 on two separate Instacart accounts?
$40 on one account using two Ink cards ā one Cash, one Unlimited. I donāt have a Preferred or Reserve, so I donāt know if those will stack.
I added ink unlimited and ink cash but I donāt see any free trial when I look at my membership and it looks like the renewal is $89/year
$79. And it only goes until 3/26
I did it on my personal acct
Just give us the instacart gift cards at Costco for $79.99
So if I am understanding this correctly, open a new business Instacart account and add an Ink business and Ink cash to get a total of $40 in credits each month. Thatāll also get you free membership until 11/1/25. Then, pay for membership for $100/year until 12/31/27 to continue receiving the $40 monthly credit. So you end up ahead $380 per year even if you pay for membership. And open new accounts if you have multiple Inks. Almost seems too good to be true for no AF cards. Am I missing something?
@Dan can you split payment with InstaCredit GC/balance and a Chase card with a monthly credit?
How did you get you Instacart+ expiration out 2030?
Yes.
Just from all the Chase trials.
how can you split it? if gc balance is enough to cover it uses all of it
This gives the credit at checkout.
Hi Dan, so if you put one ink card on a personal profile and then another ink on a business profile within the same login then each profile/card would get its own $20/month credit? Thank you!
Correct! Each account/profile can have Ink Cash and Ink Unlimited.
I just got this error when I tried creating a business profile and adding another ink unlimited for the promotion: āSorry, only primary Instacart+ members are eligible to activate this benefit.ā
Any idea why? Thank you Dan!
I got the same
Same here, did you figure it out?
Me too
Me too
me too
got the same issue, I assume this is from Chaseās bad engineering
Are things more expensive with instacart business versus regular? Can anyone sign up for it and instacart business account?
Anyone can sign up. My experience has been pricing is the same, but I have a very limited range of stores/products I am buying.
Why is your Instacart membership renewing at $49? Mine is 79
1/2 price with United CC.
My saved cards are all showing up as āNot eligible for this offerā
This includes valid cards like Hyatt, and Ink etc.
Same here
@Dan you were about to use them in your business profile and also use the same card in personal to extend the free trial, or you didnāt have a business profile?
So the 20 monthly credits works for three months?
No, those work monthly through 12/31/27.
Nice
Just to clarify, it seems that you would be required to have a Instacart+ membership to qualify for the monthly credits, so if you only plan on doing the free trial, the credits would only work for those three months.

(āTo qualify for the in-app coupon offerāāā¦.āYou must have an active Instacart+ membership where you are the primary member.ā)
could the same card# be used on both personal and business profile and receive a credit on each profile?
or does it need to be different cardās (but just ok same type)
if needs to be different card# will a chase ink additional card holder (with different#) qualify as a diffrent#?
Different card numbers.
Try AU and let us know.
Thanks,
will have to order AUā¦
does a business profile cost additional on top of the personal (after free trial used up)
and if i understood correctly the $20 credit is only valid with active membership (will need to pay after trial ends to get credit then)?
according to tc only primaryā¦
https://www.instacart.com/help/section/639415266/2103984434
āOnly primary cardmembers qualify for this benefit.ā
If I already added 2 Ink cards to an Instacart business account (and now have an extended expiration on free membership + $40 in credits), any workaround to delete them (i.e., get rid of the credits from the Business account) and instead add them to my Instacart personal account (or too late)?
+1
It seems like you get 20 monthly credits per card. I currently have two for May.
Correct
I donāt see any credits . Where would I find that?
at checkout
Can I use my wifeās cards on my account as well?
Yes
Anyone know if each user on a family account can add similar cards? For example two users each adding an Ink Cash to get the credit.
I added the ink unlimited and also ink cash. I got an email saying that my (personal) account will renew at $99/year
When adding card to bussiness profile i get an error that only primary Instacart members are eligible. Am I doing something wrong?
Same here not sure how to do it got lots of ink cards to use and donāt wanna make too many accounts too hard to keep track
Same any advice?
How did you get it to 2030 on 1 account
I think u can either charge your ink and get $20 off, or charge gift card balance with no $20 off. One or the other . Correct?
So order $40 costco less $20 w ink , donāt use gift card balance for this order .
Ink preferred also Get $20 monthly ?
United no fee ?
The added fees make it worthless to me, even with a trial plus account and $10 off deal. Just a ripoff.
Thanks again Dan! For some reason when add to my personal account it works and shows expiration Feb 2029 (only about a year less than you so that means Iām doing something right!!;) but when i try to add another card to my business profile it says only the primary instacart + member is eligible for this offer. Any idea why itās saying that and if its fixable?
Did anyone have any luck getting the World of Hyatt consumer card activated for this deal under the co-brand category, it clearly says it qualifies, but when i add it i do not get 3 free months or the $10. Did anyone have luck with getting the Hyatt card to work.
Same problem here, they are investigating.
@Dan @Abe DaBabe. I found it doesnāt show up unless you switch primary payment to that card or you can temp switch/edit payment method that card at checkout
ā I added an IHG card to P2 account with Ink cards ā the $10 off showed at checkout when I switched to IHG card as payment.
Weird that the preferred doesnāt have and the others do?!
maybe it will get 30$ā¦
How do you split payments across cc, gc balance ?
Can I add one ink c, one ink u , to a personal instacaet , and will get $40 credit a month ?
2 must use ink cc on checkout for $20 credit ?
3 to get $40 credit can I use one of the inks , or muse split to 2 orders, one per card for $ 20 pet card ?
4 is it ic discount, or chass statement credit?
5 pls explain in detail how to split pay on check out w 2 cards plus gc balance
Thank you
When I try adding an Ink card to my personal profile it says āThe card you selected is not eligible for this offer. Please try a different Chase card.ā And when I try adding one to my business profile (same account) I get āSorry, only primary Instacart+ members are eligible to activate this benefit.ā
What am I doing wrong? (I already added my united quest to get $10 and then $5 monthly)
Same by me
Same!
If all $20 is not used up in a single transaction, does anyone know if the remainder rolls over for your next order?
How do you use these credits? Does the credit card get charged, and then a credit appears on the Chase side? Or does the credit show up in the IC app?
Shows up as a discount at checkout.
Getting an error that only primary instacart plus members are available to sign up. I am the primary, any ideas?
How do you stack cards on one account to get free membership for that many years ?
???
If I have ink preferred and ink unlimited, plus EBT that claims to give 50% off membership, what would be the best way/order to apply all 3, to maximize all three benefits to the fullest?
@dan or anyone else.
Can anyone confirm. Can the same cc be used for personal and business account as far as receiving 3 month free membership.
Whatās the trick in getting it to work for business and avoiding the primary error that many people are getting
Can you add the same Costco membership to 2 different accounts?
I tels me that It needs to be the primary members name, but I AM THE PRIMARY MEMBER. I AM THE ONLY MEMEBER!
Tried my (old?) United Gateway and it didnāt work. Terms on Instacart donāt mention anything about any version of the Gateway card.
I just got the chase sapphire preferred card with the 100,000 bonus. Is that card currently eligible for this promotion?
@dan Can you add the same CC to multiple personal instacart accounts? And if you add different Chase Ink cards to the same instacart personal account will you just get the membership date extended or do you also get the $20 monthly discount for EACH card? or only 1 monthly $20 discount?
I have a biz and personal Instacart account and added my 3 personal cards fine and was able to use one $10 credit last night. Tried to place another order and the other credits donāt show up. Chatted and 2 agents didnāt want to deal with it and ended the chat and called and got hung up on after asking about the ink cards. When I called she said you can only use one credit a month per Instacart account regardless of how many cards you have. But I swear I saw terms that said you could use one credit per order but now I canāt find them. When I used the link to add the ink cards to my biz Instacart account it only allows me access to my business account and gives the error message āSorry, only primary Instacart+ members are eligible to activate this benefitā. I am the only person on all of my accounts.
Was anyone able to add their ink cards to their Instacart business account after adding personal cards to the personal account?
Yes, I did. Iām actually trying to figure out how to move the credits to my personal to combine my Instacart+ membership. That may be more with it for you.
@helpful.
Can you explain how you added the cc to business account and got it to work. So far seems like many people are getting this error Sorry, only primary Instacart+ members are eligible to activate this benefit.
How to you avoid this error
same
No idea. When I later tried adding another one, I got that message.
Having the same issue as Holly that I was only able to use 1 x $10 credit on an order from a personal Hyatt card but canāt get another $10 credit to show when I select my Marriott card for a new separate order. These are the terms:
https://www.instacart.com/help/section/639415266/3449502464
It says: āYou can also enroll multiple eligible products and receive a monthly coupon available to use with each enrolled product. Limit one coupon per transaction. Must pay for an order with the enrolled card to use the couponā
This means that you should be able to get $10 or $20 per card even if you have multiple as long as each is a different card product.
But further down in the longer terms for the $10 coupon it also says āOnly one offer per household.ā So theyāre contradicting themselves.
Thank you
Tip:
You can cancel the + account right away and you can keep on using it till the 3 months finishes
As per terms the $20 credit only applies to active +account, so may be worth paying for +membership in order to qualify for the $20 monthly credit
Does this also work on restaurant orders?(only available for personal accounts in the app)
āSorry only primary instacart members are eligible for this offerā. I am the primary member, so not sure what to do here!
Iām confused. I was able to add an Ink and a Marriott card to one personal account, although I had to set up a new account (kept getting primary account error). Anyway, at checkout it will only give me one credit or the other, depending on which card is selected. So thereās no way to combine those $10 and $20 credits on one purchase?
No.
Hi Dan, have you or anyone been able to solve this error when trying to add an Ink to my business profile? āSorry, only primary Instacart+ members are eligible to activate this benefit.ā Should I just open a 3rd instacart account and try adding my 3rd Chase Ink to that account? Thank you Dan!
Anyone figure out how to get around the business profile error that only primary Instacart members are eligible?
nope:(
I also have this issue. someone please help.
Any updates to this issue?
Having the same issue
Does it need to be done on computer instead of app?
I did it on my computer.
@Dan
Anybody having an issue adding a new payment method on Instacart? keep on getting message āsomething went wrong please try again laterā
I got that message for over 24 hrs. But suddenly it worked on May 10 afternoon on my app (when it had not worked on app or desktop for those previous 24 hrs of trying!).
Use the app not a desktop
When you press eligible card on the Instacart app, it does not say United gateway
And it is not letting me use my United Gateway card
i placed an order on my business account using the $20 chase account then i tried placing an order on my personal account and when i tried checking out i got an error message that this promo was used on a different account and took away the chase credit any ideas whats wrong?
Using a different card each time?
If I only have Instacart+ from being part of a family account (after my free trial expires), will I still get the monthly credits?
