Get 1 Year Of Starbucks Gold Status With Any Purchase

Don’t have a Starbucks Rewards card? You can signup with my referral link here.

Starbucks is launching their new revenue based program today. In the past Gold members got a free drink after 12 purchases, but apparently that was too gameable. Gold members will now get a free drink for every 125 stars earned and you’ll get 2 stars per dollar spent. That means a free drink for every $62.50 spent, though on monthly double star days Gold member purchases will earn 4 stars per dollar.

With the new program you need to earn 300 stars in a year (in other words spend $150 in a year) to earn or retain Gold status, but if you make a single purchase by May 2nd you’ll automatically get 1 year of Gold status. Your status will be upgraded to Gold within 48 hours of making a purchase. You’ll then qualify for a shiny Gold card that you’ll never use because the app is far more convenient. But you’ll also qualify for monthly double star days and free drinks for every 125 stars earned.

Existing gold members making a purchase by May 2nd will have their status extended by 1 year.

“Eligible transactions are those that earn Stars—any purchase made with your Starbucks App or registered Card at Starbucks, Teavana or Evolution Fresh. Taxes, tips, fees, alcohol, donations or any card-to-card transactions may be excluded. Entering a Star Code from a grocery purchase is also considered an eligible transaction.”

Surviving the devaluation: All Starbucks members still get a free drink for their birthday.

Wow, @Sl:
Wow, harassing a CEO at home is genius way to get what you want…come on people. Get a life.

@Jack: Thanks for the star-k directive! Other than that, my Much Better 1/2 (or ‘eesha’) is the Starbucks lover. This only means that I will really and mainly be reloading her card through e-rewards, MyPoints and Bing rewards (trying to add Swagbucks to this as well). I strongly suggest that most do the same. At least Schultzy won’t get most of your $ straight from your pockets.

When I checked just now, via the posted link, the offer now says that you have until May 12th to make one purchase. Looks like it may have been extended.

Moe

Does it include online purchases?

Dan

@Moe:
Any star code will work.

I can’t believe people are wasting time on a starbucks reward program and I’m equally as amazed that people even drink starbucks on a regular basis.
