About uber:
uber offers luxury car service via UberBLACK, affordable rides in clean cars at rates lower than taxis in most cities via uberX, and rides for the whole family via uberSUV. They also offer uberT which allows you to hail a taxi from your phone, but you can’t use credit for that as you pay the driver directly with that service.
You can hail a ride via the uber app from anywhere across hundreds of cities worldwide, but they’re really great at the airport where you can skip the long taxi line and get straight into your private ride. When you request a car you’ll get an ETA along with the name, number, and picture of your driver and you can meetup wherever is convenient for you. It took all of 1 minute to have an uberx car waiting at LGA as opposed to waiting half an hour in line for a smelly taxi.
Tax and tip is included in all fares. You do not pay the driver anything in cash. Rides are charged to your account credit and then to your credit card on file when you first open your uber account.
New uber customers can get $20 of free uber credit by first signing up via my referral link here.
The $20 signup credit never expires and can be used on multiple rides.
Immediately after signing up for a new account you can also enter the following code on the promotion page for another $25 credit off of your first ride (Exp: 05/01/14): Hipmunk
You will then see a $20 non-expiring account bonus AND a $25 promotion expiring on 05/01 now 05/30:
Note that you will only see $20 as an account credit. The other $25 is in the promo field and will stack with the $20 account credit for $45 of free rides!

I want to use these codes but I recently made an account. Does anyone know if they’ll honor it if I delete my account and start over? While Uber is a great app, their customer service is lagging… you have to email them to delete an account!

@Hipmunk: You can get a taxi through UberT but you have to pay the taxi directly. it’s not paid through the Uber app, which means you can’t use your $25 towards an UberT taxi hail.
@Eli: Not only is it free to sign up but you can get a $20 credit if you use Dan’s link.

Yea uberx is WAY cheaper than a taxi. In phoenix it comes out to around $1.75 per mile. We don’t have a taxi service that charges less than $2.25 PLUS tip.
i just signed up through your referall link, and received a $20 credit and was not able to add the $25 credit in addition.

Use a different email and ask that they delete you, a new cc too just change up your info. But as of now I can’t get anything more than 10 which is a bummer. Lyft is 25 off, going to give it a shot, hipmunk didn’t work, the only reason I deleted is was mad that a driver drove completely out of the way and then had a surcharge? It was after midnight, no traffic…
