Alitalia: JFK To Tel Aviv From $592.85 Round-Trip In March

Step 1: Signup for the Alitalia newsletter to instantly get a 10% off coupon good only for flights originating in Boston, JFK, or Miami.

Step 2: Search for a flight and complete all travel by 03/27/14.

Step 3: After selecting the flights enter and apply your E-Coupon number to get the 10% off (If you copy/paste be sure there no extra spaces at the beginning or end!)

Flights connect via Rome and/or Milan.

There is lots of availability in March for $592.85 after the 10% off code is applied.

I searched for flights from 03/04-03/12 and 03/12-03/19 (Purim) and found flights with a single 2 hour connection in Rome on the outbound and a single 1.5 hour connection in Rome on the return.

February flights will be a little higher, for example 02/16-03/02 was $695 after the code.

    I have heard that Alitalia is terrible (terrible service, long delays etc.) Can anyone tell me how they compare to other airlines? A flight to Israel in coach isn’t going to be so comfortable either way …

    @3yummyboys:

    I flew Alitalia FCO to EWR a few years back, it was an overall terrible experience. Old plane, bad service, rude gate and airline crew, etc. This is a few years ago so things may have changed.

    From Miami it requires 2 stops and the fare with the coupon is in the $850 range. Not worth it to travel close to 25 hours.
    In regards to the airline, I would rate them a C+ at best.
    Last time I flew them (with one stop in Madrid), they left the luggage outside in the rain and delivered it 2 days later.

    It will not save you money if the steal from your suitcases! They forced my daughter to check her handbag on the plane, she managed to take out a few valuables, but they ripped all her packaged gifts and stole whatever they liked. Makeup, jewelry and iPod. We are still waiting for compensation a year later, after submitting lots of forms and receipts.

    For those worried about service on Alitalia — Alitalia recently upgraded its overseas fleet to brand new three class Airbus A330s. The negative reviews you will find (on Skytrax and from those who have flown Alitalia before the new planes arrived) are almost exclusively related to their older A330-200s. There are a few of these old planes still in circulation so buyer beware. If the flight you are booking has three classes (economy, premium, and biz) then you are on the new planes. The old planes are only two classes (economy and biz).

    Shalom,
    I need to fly round trip TVL to NY (and maybe Boston) during the first two weeks in March 2014. Are there good deals for these dates?

    I will also need to travel in July 2014, from TLV to the US, possibly through NY (if it is cheaper), and including several cities: St. Paul MN, perhaps Grand Forks, ND, San Diego, and SF (better Oakland).

    Can you advise me?
