New Priority Club PointBreaks List Is Out

Priority Club PointBreaks Linky

The current list is valid for stays from now through 03/31/13. Hotels can sell out quickly.

I’ve stayed using PointBreaks in Toronto And Tiberias, Israel and got awesome rooms at both hotels even though the hotel is only reimbursed $30/night on PointBreaks stays.

You can stay in any PointBreaks hotel for 5,000 Priority Club points. If you already have 5,000 Priority Club points in your account then you can buy increments of 10,000 points for $70 as described below.

If you don’t have points yet Priority Club sells 5,000 points for $67.50 or you can instantly transfer 5,000 Chase Sapphire Preferred Ultimate Rewards points into 5,000 Priority Club points.

After you have 5,000 points in your account you can book any cancellable 15,000 point hotel using cash and points for $70+5,000 points. Just search for reward points stays in any metro area and you should find a hotel for 5,000 points+$70. When you cancel the hotel you will get 15,000 points in your account. In other words the cost per each 5,000 point stay is just $35 after you already have 5,000 points in your account.

Sample hotels for $35 per night:

-Crowne Plaza Suffern-Monsey
-Staybridge Suites Cleveland-Mayfield Heights/Beachwood
-Hotel Indigo Newark
-Crowne Plaza Washington DC-Rockville
-Crowne Plaza Boston-Woburn
-Candlewood Suites Denver
-Candlewood Suites Phoenix

-Intercontinental Fiji Resort
-Holiday Inn Sao Paulo, Brazil
-Holiday Inn Auckland, New Zealand
-Holiday Inn Express Krakow
-Crowne Plaza Johannesburg

@mo: What nonsense. I have used Priority points many times and they are great value, especially on the PointsBreak. Last week I was in Prague and stayed at the Holiday Inn for just 5000 points. That equates to $35 even if you have to buy them. What is garbage about that?

@mo: Certainly as far as the PointBraeaks this is nonsense. For 5000 points you can stay in some great hotels. 10 days ago I was in the Holiday Inn at Prague Airport on a PointsBreak stay and as a Platinum I was upgraded to a suite – all for the equivanent of $35. What is garbage about that? I have used the points all over Europe and the value is tremendous.

@Harry: Not this time round. Dan does a great job getting us the link as soon a sit out; all you have to do is follow it and click on Africa & The Middle East. I have stayed in the Crowne Plaza in Eilat with PointsBreak and it was tremendous value, especially with the Platinum upgrade!

I dont understand this last paragraph:

After you have 5,000 points in your account you can book any cancellable 15,000 point hotel using cash and points for $70+5,000 points. Just search for reward points stays in any metro area and you should find a hotel for 5,000 points+$70. When you cancel the hotel you will get 15,000 points in your account. Is this separate of the point break list (and some kind of hack) or part of it? Can someone please clarify? Thanks.

@Mo: You have to maximize the use of your Priority points as with all other points/miles. You can pick up tremendous hotel bargains in Miami so that is not a place to blow points, except perhaps at the height of the season if you can get availability. As an example, the InterContinental in Kyiv though which can easily cost $500 a night is worth using 20,000 points and $70 on.

Just booked two nights for this weekend = $70 total.
Took one day for the 5000 pts to transfer from my Chase Sapphire card (transferred the pts yesterday, today in AM the points were in my Priority Club account). Today, I booked and cancelled a “5000 pts + $70″ hotel room somewhere in Jersey(paid the $70 with my southwest card just because). Cancelled that hotel an hour later and instantly received 15,000 pts total into my account. And immediately booked two nights starting tomorrow night, totaling $70 for two nights. Dan you are awesome. Thanks so much.
