Starwood NYC Best Rate Guarantee Free Night Promotion Ending Tonight!

Update 2: DEAD!

Update: Although the link below says “discontinued” Starwood has confirmed that they will be honoring this promotion for submissions made by 11:59pm EDT tonight!

Starwood NYC Best Rate Guarantee Free Night Promotion Linky

This promo was supposed to run through 09/04/12, but it was just far too generous.

If you can find one of Starwood’s NYC hotels on another booking site for less than the price on spg.com you get a free night there.

You can use a site like Kayak to help find rates to compare to spg.com

Once you find a site with a lower rate you can fill out this claim form before making any reservation, making sure to write in the comments that you would like the NYC best rate free night and selecting the 2K free Starpoints.

SPG will then get back to your by email or phone and if the rate differential is still there when they verify the claim the night will be free. If the price on spg.com drops lower than the competitor site at the time of claim verification then you won’t get anything.

All submissions for this promotion must be completed by tonight, 06/12, at 11:59pm EDT.

And have 10,000 people submitting a claim for the same hotel on the same night?
    Nope.

Hi Dan – question about BA and AA. I managed to finally book a flight on AA using my BA miles. I paid the 7.50 with my AA card (the AAdvantage Citi Visa Signature Platinum Level Card that I got the 75,000 miles last year). How does the free bags work? When I go to check in, do I just show them my card? Do I need to do anything beforehand? What about for my wife and child – how do I get free bags for them?

How stupid are you? If San or steve or anybody would post a date/place, 5,000 people would submit the same claim and starwood would pull their rate in no time. (If anything, people would post it on dansdeals forum so at least they would be helping fellow forum members – people who actually contribute to a community. )
