Get $15 off $300 in Visa gift cards from Office Max or Office Depot stores through 12/24

Use your Chase Ink Plus or Chase Ink Cash card and get 5 points per dollar spent.

Last December my local store let me buy 60 cards as I racked up the miles in record time.

My local stores told me over the phone that there’s a limit of 1 $15 savings per transaction. Some employees will allow multiple transactions and others will not.

If you buy 2 $200 Visa gift card in store you’ll pay $398.90 including fees and you’ll earn 1,995 points by charging it to an Ink Plus or Ink Cash card. If you buy a $200 gift card and a $100 gift card you’ll pay $297.90 including fees and you’ll earn 1,490 points by charging it to an Ink Plus or Ink Cash card.

You can use the gift cards to buy money orders at Walmart or at various grocery stores, gas stations or some post offices. Just use the last 4 digits of the card as the PIN number to cash them out.

Or you can donate the gift card to charity and get a receipt for the full $200 face value.

Or you can give away a gift card as a wedding or Bar Mitzvah gift.

Or you can always use it for everyday spending.

Amex has an offer of spend 100 in office max/depot get 20 back

I wonder if the POS system will allow 2 per customer so we can buy 3 x $200 and make it more efficient. I know each store has their own policy about how many per customer.

do i need to register the card to gain the x5 points? or will it be auto?

Point lover

Just to bring awareness they sell Visa gift cards that you can only use towards dining but it does state Visa on it so b awere I’m stuck with $8k worth of it

Do they ask for ss number or ID when you cash out for money order?

Yikes. I.m so sorry, but appreciate the heads up Point lover. Can you tell us what those look like? Do they clearly state that it can only be used for dining?

@Point lover: I was in a similar situation and called them. they have sent me a check for the whole amount. Doubt you can do it several times, but one time I think is OK 🙂

does it have to be Chase Ink Plus or Chase Ink Cash, doesn’t the INK business bold get the 5pts. per dollar as well?

It says dining only on it clearly.

@David M:
Some versions of it do.

@Point lover: I bought the Grocery cards last time which worked at Shoprite, etc. and Walgreens, etc. Did not work at the local dollar store though. So the grocery card is not a bad option, at least for me.

no 5 points per dollar on the chase freedom card?

in order to receive the 5x points per dollar besides swiping the card is there anything else i need to do?

@Point lover: Are you throwing a holiday party?

you can not double to $600 and get $30 off. Too bab…

@Reuben: “you can not double to $600 and get $30 off. Too bab…”

Yep, I checked it out today and came to the same maskana (conclusion).

I used the amex offer for the first two rounds (and gave up 5X points on Ink). So $400 + 2 x $4.95 – $15 – $20 = $374.90 total price for $400 VGC, not bad.

The dining and fashion Visa cards work the same as the regular ones & the fee is $2 less

If I buy these cards, I can’t cash them out at the post office?
