no American express Dell offers around now?

Dan

@cook:
Nothing you can currently enroll in.

Sam

@Dan: How does this compare? This DOES qualify for an Amex offer.

Dan

@Sam:
It doesn’t have Windows 7 if that’s something you care about.

Shmuli

It shows up as 649$ in the link…

Dan

@Shmuli:
That’s why there’s a code in the post.

Mottie

I get why windows 8 is almost unusable, but what’s not to like about 10?

Anonymous

@Dan: Correct, but Win 10 is fine

Which is a better deal? The HP would be $80 cheaper or $130 if you use 2 amex to buy HP GC’s… Though you lose the amex proiection which may not be worth it

@Mottie: There’s one BIG gotcha about Win10: “Wi-Fi Sense” – sharing Wi-Fi access with what is determined to be “kindred spirits”. As a long-time techie (36 years), I’ve learned Microsoft leaves security open so things work out of the box. You then have to plug the holes. This is opposed to other systems, which have everything turned off and you have to take the time to enable things. Microsoft sees this as unnecessary. Here’s a Win10 example:

Great deal especialy if ur used to the windows 7 style and flexibility. Dell rep informed me this doesn’t include word and excel starter either and would cost $220 if ordered with the machine. Any cheaper method?

Black Friday

@Dan:
Is it worth grabbing the deal now?
Or Do you think it might be better to wait for Black Friday?

cindy

Are the computers refurbished?
