Does this have to replace reg HD, or can it work together? What stuff gets stored on SSD?

That depends entirely if your computer has more than one slot for hard drives. most laptops don’t. even if you only have one slot you can always use a external HD for extra storage or turn an old internal HD into a external with something like this

another option would be to replace your optical drive (if you have one) with a 2nd hard drive slot with something like this

if u switch ur spinny disk (hdd) to an ssd (no moving parts) even though u will have much less storage space, ur computer will go many many many times faster! this is great for reviving old pc’s as well as boosting a brand new laptop or desktop!
