Use your Ink with Paypal for 5x

@David:

It has to be with paypal to get 5X?

Anonymous

@Anonymous: yes

HeavenlyJane

I’m a little disturbed by their 45-day guarantee. Does that mean after 45 days, someone can steal your gift card balance with impunity?

Larry

@HeavenlyJane. Yes. Has happened to me and many others.

ben

has happened to me as well.

I will add though when i complained to them, because i had started using the card within 45 days, just didn’t finish using it- they did refund me the difference. It was not easy but they did back up.
Their competitor “Raise” recently implemented a 1 year guarantee. I wrote Cardcash suggesting they match that, but got no response.
Dan- i think your clout would carry a lot more weight with them if you would be willing to suggest to them the same.
thank you very much.

To fix this problem, used to only buy the GC for amount of take-out order. Unfortunately, now the total must be $15+ or system will not let you check out

Anonymous

Dan maybe you can also recommend they reallow orders under $15

Deb

This was my first time ordering from cardcash. I had read complaints about them before but you know, people take time to list negative experiences, and don’t usually bother if everything is fine. I bought 37 gift cards and only cards that I planned to immediately use online because of the reviews and their super short money back policy. Out of that one order of 37 cards, 3 of them have issues.

Now thankfully we are talking $40-$60 cards, not hundreds of dollars but that rate of problems is ridiculous. I’ve been buying from Raise for almost 2 years and have never had 1 issue in over 10k of purchases both e-vouchers and physical cards. I know cardcash must not check the balances of the cards at all because one card I received didn’t even include a pin #. There would be no way they could check it.

I have claims in for the 3 cards and it will get settled one way or another but geez, what a crappy first impression. I’m going to have to be in a desperate situation again before I buy from them in the future. Raise was sold out of the cards I needed. Cardcash needs to offer additional discounts to make the risk worth it.

Larry

@Deb makes a good point and that is the same situation as my dead card. I bought it, didn’t go to use it until about day 50, and when I did I saw the PIN was all zeros and the card wouldn’t work at all. So they obviously have little or no quality control process checking the cards in the first place, or these bad cards would not have ever gotten into their system.

Jim

So I have had multiple issues with CardCash too, but not so much with others. In general, buy only what you can use immediately or can transfer to another card (not often possible) from any of these secondary outlets. That said, CardCash seems to be more of a problem than others. As a testament to that, notice that other sites also offer longer guarantees.

Dan

They get a lot of fraud from sellers who sell their gift cards and then use them.

But cardcash prices are good and you get 5x with paypal, so I keep using them.

The bottom line is, be sure to use the gift card within 45 days so that you can get a refund if anything happens. That’s why it says that in bold.

jordan krolick

Yes, I am dealing with them now. Bought 5 cards. Balance disappeared on one and 2 other were zero. Including one that was devalued prior to purchase based on the gift card company site. They say they check every card, but clearly they did not. Two were “codes” from them. Not sure how those could have been zeroed out…but I’m reaching out to try to get refunded. So far, their responses have been canned and no…lovely.

Doug

Every time I order from them they reject the order as “flagged” for security reasons. Snotty customer service just says “sorry” and makes no attempt to verify me or the order. I have tried 4 different times over the last couple of years. My sister got 2 out of 2 bad cards from them. Just does not seem worth dealing with these guys.

Deb

Dan, thank you for having the special email for your readers. I sent another one to that and someone expedited my claims. Just have to wait for the refunds to process.

I would say only buy online vouchers you plan to use immediately. I just think they could be doing something different to improve their rate of issues. Somehow other sites have done it. I did read that they pay out, not when it sells but when they accept the card. That alone is incentive for many to sell and drain cards. Fraudster could get a decent float before it caught up to them. It just doesn’t have to be this difficult.

I just finished using the last $300 on a $600 physical petsmart card I got from raise back last October. Not a problem. Psst–They are having an online sale for an additional 25% off many things.
