I’ve been eyeing a massage chair for a while (was leaning towards Kahuna), but jumped on this. I’ve researched this chair before as well, and it seems to be an Amazon exclusive, or something like that, as they had the old version as well (this is 2.0) and have never sold the “4” on their own website. No clue what the deal is in this case, however, and all the reviews everywhere on the web (even Yelp) seem so good, I’m having trouble thinking this is legit…
Deal is still alive. Any idea why it is so cheap (75% off of the original sales price). Almost too good to be true.
I am in for 1 at least until the wife finds out and cancels it and takes my phone away. The price is to good to be true, I hope nothing is wrong with the chair or me.

Will def be canceled. I called to ask if the 4 has a warranty not even mentioning Amazon and he said he was aware of Amazon glitch. He said shipping alone is $600. Btw 4 only has 1 year warranty. Higher model has 3 year. They will be selling one in costco in a few months for 5500

I think you’re right. This is five generations old. They use all kinds of marketing techniques like increasing the price every two weeks, limited supply, endless paid testimonials blah blah blah. But yeah I bought one all the same.

If my chair ships and it’s a Chinese counterfeit, I would trust Amazon would stand step in.
FYI… the listing shows the seller as “Official-Medical Breakthrough” which is them direct. When you click on the hyperlink it takes you to their $5k and $6k chairs and other products. If this is a Chinese knock-off… someone either broke into their account to list under their name or somehow spoofed it.

This explains why it says 4 – 5 business days for shipping… but will arrive between Oct. 26 and Dec. 11th! Something messed up. That kind of shipping it usually from China… but the product description is all like the medical breakthrough. I am sure amazin will end up cancelling them after their review… but will be interesting what they say. Probably end up being their regular canned email with a $5 credit. Sad if it is, though. Same response for a mistake in a tube of toothpaste to when I commit to a $750 purchase. lol. I guess we shall see. Now here I was all excited! Oh well.

I’ve tried chatting with Amazon multiple times, but nobody has a clue. They keep asking me to cancel the order and re-order, and I say no, I want my chair. But I’m guessing they’ll ship me a knife and charge 730 dollars for it? This is fascinating, never seen amazon with a situation like this one.
My CC was charged today for the chair but it doesn’t show as shipped yet and the arrival date is estimated as Oct 30. This is a very fancy boxcutter. Let’s see what actually arrives.
Just to add. Amazon says it shipped via usps. Hard to believe they would send a 200 pound box thru usps

True the picture shows a box cutter but the product description next to the pic correctly describes the massage chair. I am inclined to ignore the pic. Probably want to get people to cancel their order so they won’t have to make good on the deal. Wait and see what comes.

My question is why didn’t Amazon just cancel these themselves? Their agents just tell me to cancel and order a new one (obviously impossible, as the chair is no longer available, just the “5” and “6” model which are thousands of dollars).
So clearly Amazon checked it out, and somehow after all this time just decided to make it a boxcutter, rather than just cancelling the order like an airline does with “mistake fares”? How does any of this make sense?
The box cutter may be a gift from Amazon when they let everyone know that they will not get the chair.
Well either way an Amazon rep. confirmed threshold delivery so at least I won’t have to shelp the utility knife in my house and I don’t have to worry about theft. I just hope whatever Amazon delivers can get the knots out from my back…

Messaged Amazon as soon as I saw the picture of the knife and the chat agent assured me that the item I ordered is what’s being shipped– not the knife. Agent excused that the item is discontinued as the reason for a new product showing up…

An hour later on the phone with amazon, Amazon gave me an immediate return and gave me a $20 statement credit. Still have to send the box cutter back…
Got a refund and $50 credit after demanding it from a chat rep.
Technically, this is likely a breach of contract by Amazon, and they are probably legally responsible to provide us with the chair (not a lawyer, but in contracting, and their offer was accepted by us, making it a contract).
Who wants to hire an attorney and get a class action together!!!??
i was originally offered $5 as a credit when i asked. then they went up to $10 when i said that’s not enough for the huge mistake. I said it’s still not enough they said that’s all they are authorized to give. I asked for a supervisor. with him i tried asking if they could match the price on the higher version massage chair…they said it will be a couple days to review and they’ll get back to me. they emailed that they can not price match it. so i wrote back that i didnt discuss the credit bec i was hoping to get the chair and i’m really disappointed that i’m not getting it etc and that i know someone had the same issue with their order and they received a $50 amazon credit and can they do that for me. and they said they can and gave me the $50 credit. (thank you to whoever posted about getting $40 on the facebook thread) i would have much preferred the chair but i’ll take the $50.

I have big doubt right now. anybody got the massage chair? called for refund?
I was told I would be receiving the knife and after my call with amazon they emailed me a $100 dollars of credit. We never discussed compensation on the call. I said I wanted the chair and that it is not right to pull the old bait and switch routine.
Got my utility knife today!
Called Amazon. They said they knew all about it, and were issuing a refund. Also said that they had many angry customers. I forgot to ask for a credit, and figured I’ll call back tomorrow.
Couple of hours later I check my email and see they gave me a $75 credit without me even asking for it. Just think of all the utility knives I can get for that!
So… I let this continue… and sure enough they said they delivered it today and it was a utility knife for which they charged my credit card $764.54. I called (no way I was going to chat or email on that one). took quite some time. They basically gave me a credit (offered gift card or refund to my credit card – I figured for that dollar amount… a refund was the way to go) and told me I can keep the knife. They did not offer any courtesy credit of any sort. I figure to see if one magically appears like others have had happen to them. If not… I will probably send them an email or a chat expressing my disturbance at this and seeing what that shakes up. It is actually extremely disturbing that with that much attention on the issue… it still went through and I had to call for a refund. I am sure Amazon corporate did not intend this… but it was fraud. The picture changed to a utility knife… but I clearly ordered a massage chair… with picture and all. The link to my order says… and has said for several weeks that this item was under review. That being the case… why did they ship it and charge my card?

Last week I told them I don’t want a refund I want the chair. They told me to give them a week to resolve it. They send me a $15 amazon credit. I called back today and she said she needs to credit me. I said no way do I want a credit. She transferred me to a supervisor and he offered me an additional $100 credit and will refund me the money. I said no but he refunded me anyway. I asked for a $150 credit and he gave it to me. So I got a total of $165 Amazon credit, but Mo recliner.
