Sony Ericsson IV840 Bluetooth Headset Linky
With states across the nation passing laws requiring a handsfree headset while driving, a bluetooth headset has moved from being an optional accessory to a required one.
I picked up Sony Ericsson’s new IV840 a little bit ago and have been very impressed so far.
The range and clarity of this Bluetooth 2.0 EDR device is excellent. It uses digital noise cancellation to block out background noise. The headset automatically raises or lowers the volume, even in middle of a call, to adjust to the surrounding noise level.
The battery life is absolutely incredible, it is rated for 9 hours talk time/400 hours standby, and seems to surpass even that.
It sports an innovative and very comfortable in-the-ear design with no annoying ear clip to weigh down on your ear, plus with 3 different earbud sizes it will stay snug in your ear even if you tip your head to the side!.
All around the IV840 is a big step up from the somewhat flawed previous generation of this headset, the IV835.
Finally, this is by far one of the nicest looking and sleekest bluetooth headsets, its black and silver mirrored surface makes for a beautiful finish that really isn’t properly represented in any pictures of the device that I’ve seen online-it really is a “hot piece!”
At any rate the current price at amazon, $78.24, is the lowest that I’ve seen to date from them, buy it by today and you will be grandfathered into the price adjustment policy that goes bye-bye for items bought starting tomorrow! The IV840 sells for $109.99 directly from Sony.
Is it worth spending $80 on a bluetooth headset? That all depends on how much you use your cell phone, but in my opinion you’re better off spending $80 on something that will work well than $40 on a piece of junk that you’ll never wind up using…

The Plantronics 925 is AMAZING!!!
it has an ingenious new way to stay in the ear, the sound is great and it even allows you to use it on multiple devices at one time. (i.e. cell phone and blackberry)
