From Amazon it seems it would sync and cause a 2nd plan to run.

how do you extend current subscribtion?
I just had a long chat with Amazon customer service — they say there’s no way to add to the existing subscription. If you bought a subscription today, they say that you have to gift it to someone else. This is disappointing.
I checked out and activated it in my existing account and Microsoft recognized it as a renewal. Initially Amazon showed two subscriptions, but after a few minutes they merged and it showed the correct extended date.

It extended my subscription to January 2024 from January 2023, so it does extend.
After purchase, Amazon directed me to my Microsoft account to activate. Microsoft directed me back to Amazon. It looked like I had two concurrent subscriptions at once, but when I checked again ten minutes later, the subscriptions had merged and my original subscription is now extended by one year.
Anyone try for more than 4 years?
If someone plans on buying on and doesn’t mind for me to try to add to my account first. If it works I’ll qp you the total and buy the Amazon gc off you.
But if it doesn’t work. You’ll just use it yourself.

I tried this a few years ago and it did not start at the end of my old subscription but rather on the day I purchased it. I just decided to try it again and the same thing happened. I had 2 months left on my Microsoft subscription and it started this new one today. I think it’s because I had my previous subscription paid automatically for the last 2 years from my credit card not through Amazon. This was just confirmed to me by Amazon. It only extends your current subscription if your last one was from Amazon too. They offered to cancel my order, which I accepted.
Anyone else get this message?

@dan, Does this auto-renew at the same price of $92.95, or on my renewal date, will I be charged the regular 6-member account rate?
Look on amazon it will show you under subscriptions at what price it will renew at. If you bought a family plan then yes, you’ll be paying that rate.
Managed to stack till 2027.
And have one more key sitting in my amazon account. Its waiting to be activated. Or I can Unassign the license key, and use wherever I like. But seems to limit me at 5 keys for my one subscription. So will need to hold the key or sell it at a later time.
So with 5 years added. And now two sitting in my account. Not sure if I should unassign them or just leave them connected to my amazon account. They’re not activated.
On Microsoft I get this error after trying to combine more than 5.
