Update: Now just $202.79!

Garmin Nuvi 265T Linky (3.5″ LCD)

The Nuvi 265T comes with a receiver that includes free traffic information for the lifetime of the device!

With the new screen interface you can easily see how far you are from your next turn and the road’s speed limit.

Bluetooth is included on the device for hands-free calling, and the 265T has the critical text-to-speech feature, so it will say “turn right on Main Street,” instead of just “turn right.”

The only downside is the 3.5″ screen, which can only fit 4 icons per screen.  If you’s like a wider screen go for the identical Nuvi 265WT which has all of the Nuvi 265T’s features but comes with a 4.3″ LCD screen that can handle 6 icons at a time. The 265WT is also a steal at just $239.51.

does the Nuvi 265T have the free traffic update too?

Some tips regarding this GPS:

I bought this one 3 weeks ago for 206.99.

I am using it a lot in NYC.

The traffic info is not that accurate nor helpful;

Sometimes, it will exaggerate/overestimate the traffic delays by 20 minutes. It will take you off the highway (because of supposed highway traffic – which turns out to be just some minor delay) onto regular city streets and ends up wasting much more time waiting for red lights aside from the regular city street traffic which the GPS doesn’t take into account because it only “knows” the highways’ traffic.

I still appreciate knowing whether there will be a bit of traffic ahead on the highway, although I wont get off the highway because of it. I.e. I set the unit not to avoid traffic.

Anyone else with some experience with “Free Traffic Updates”, please let me know what you think.
