Maybe I answered my own question.
I tried to cancel the pre-order item, and I got this message:
“Important Message
To cancel these items, the Add-on Items in your order must also be cancelled.
This order contains one or more Add-on Items, which ship with qualifying orders of $25 or more of items shipped by Amazon.”
So, I guess I need to wait for it to ship before cancelling the pre-order item.
