Update: The 30% transfer bonus from Chase to BA ends today!
Iberia has wide open business class award space on their nonstop flights between the US and Madrid starting later this year through June 2023. Iberia flies A330s with lie-flat seats and direct aisle access.
American can book those flights, including with connections in the US and Europe, for 57.5K miles+$110 one-way or 115K miles+$253 round-trip. American allows for free mileage redeposits or changes.
However you can book a flight like JFK-Madrid with BA Avios from just 34K Avios+$110 one-way or 68K Avios+$253 round-trip off-peak thanks to newly lowered fuel surcharges. BA charges $55/passenger for mileage redeposits or changes.
Plus you can get a 30% bonus when you transfer Chase points to BA through 7/31! That drops the rate to just ~26,150 Chase points each way!
Note that BA charges more for peak dates, longer flights, and for each connection, so be sure to search for rates and availability before transferring.
Use a Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card, Ink Business Preferred® Credit Card, or Chase Sapphire Reserve®® to earn 2-3 Chase points per dollar spent and get free trip cancellation/interruption insurance, travel accident insurance, luggage insurance, trip and luggage delay protection, and more!

Can I use ba third party to book
Why not?
Are BA, Iberia and Aer Lingus the same miles and surcharges for these Iberia flights? Usually not.
One nig deal with Avios is you can also do points+cash at only 1.2 cents per mile. Cheap. 3
Should be the same now.
thanks got 43k tlv – nyc + $200 charges . isee its a a350 tlv – madrid
FYI, Spain still requires covid vaccination for 12+ for entry to the country.
Does it makes sense to do 5 or 6 days just Barcelona?
I meant just Madrid sorry
