I’ve written about some of the Starwood packages to attend the World Series, watch batting practice from the field, or even throw out the first pitch. A DDF member has already won the package to watch batting practice from the field before tonight’s World Series game.
United is now auctioning tickets to attend the World Series as well, and they also let you know exactly where the seats are in the dugout seat level.
United is also selling off pieces of 747s. United is retiring their 747 fleet next month and I booked a couple of business class awards on the final United 747 flight, though I’m not yet sure if I’m going to make it.
You can use your miles to buy 747 seats, windows, or livery panels currently. Funny how they are charging more to get the seats without a middle seat 😀
They will also be adding auctions for the 747 tail number cutout, airspeed indicator, and more over the coming weeks. All profits from the 747 auctions will benefit Air Camp.
The only time I’ve ever redeemed United miles for anything besides for a flight was when I spent 25K miles for 4 box seats and the rights to steal 2nd base in middle of the game.
Have you ever redeemed United miles for an experience or rare item?
