Aegean is a Star Alliance member, you can view their Star Alliance award chart here.

Aegean considers Israel to be part of Europe/North Africa, so you can book a one-way between North America and Europe (including Israel) for just 30K miles in coach, 45K miles in business, or 60K miles in first class!

Aegean does not charge fuel surcharges to fly on Air Canada or United.

A flight within Europe/North Africa (including Israel) is just 12.5K miles in coach or 21K miles in business class each way.

You can transfer 20K Starpoints into 25K Aegean miles.

Aegean only charges 20 Euros to change or cancel an award ticket and there are no close-in fees.

You need to call Aegean to book awards on partner airlines at +30-21-0626-1000.

Aegean miles expire after 24 months, but if you credit any Star Alliance flight to Aegean your points will be extended by another 24 months.

Want to pickup some Starpoints?

American Express is a advertiser.

You can earn them on the Starwood Consumer AMEX and the Starwood Business AMEXAside from valuable Starpoints, they also provide 4pm late checkout and free premium internet at Starwood hotels. The business card also provides free lounge access at Sheraton hotels like the Sheraton Tel Aviv. They also provide free unlimited Boingo WiFi access worldwide.

You can learn all about Starwood and using Starpoints in this post. Note that Marriott is in the process of buying Starwood, though it will be quite a while before the loyalty programs can be merged. And the great thing about Starwood is that we can always bail and transfer our points into airline miles with a 25% bonus if we don’t like the details of the new program.

Short on Starpoints?

You can buy up to 30,000 Starpoints per year here. Plus you can buy more than 30K with multiple members by transferring points for free between members living at the same address.

You can earn Starpoints with the Starwood Consumer or Business AMEX or the Chase Marriott Consumer or Business Visa. You can view credit card offers by hovering over the “Credit Cards” tab. You can then click on “Credit Cards From All Banks“ to find card offers via the logo of the bank you’re looking for.

Will the 500 bonus miles extend the expiration?

Is there a way to lock-in a rare TLV-LAX J award ticket on United (on Lufthansa metal) prior to transferring Starpoints to Aegean? It seems risky to load up Aegean miles for partner travel if the award seat disappears by the time the Starpoints make the transfer.

I mean on United metal OR Lufthansa

@dan or anyone, If I have Chase UR points and Amex points, is there any way to transfer to this program? Is that a bad use of them? My primary goal is to fly to Israel often. Thanks in advance:)

They’re very cute. They left out the United States when entering country code for telephone.

I just put in one of the choices

Is the bonus 500 points only for new accounts

How easy to get seats usa tlv on united? Anyone has experience?

According to the aegean airlines website, their miles never expire

I used these folks to book a ticket to Israel. Their service was great. When I wanted to switch days from an Austria Air to Lufthansa flight the agent I spoke with provided me his name and actually called me back within an hour when he was able to complete it.

Inventory is spot on to what you see on UA or Expertflyer. Every time I called the US 800 number they told me they were having technical difficulties and couldn’t transfer the call to Greece, so you probably just need to spend a few nickels and make a long distance call

I’m confused. I went to their site and wanted to look at flights from NY to TLV and they don’t have NY flights. Am I missing something?

application password box not taking input .. any ideas?

These guys are shady characters. Dan can you let us know next time if they deliberatly leave out USA phone numbers so we don’t have to spend ten minutes going thru the country codes only to realize that yes they included Afghanistan but not USA.
