On the current list is several high end Intercontinental hotels. For example the Intercontinental Sao Paulo is on the list for 15K points. The hotel is located inside the Sao Paulo eruv and I wrote about it in this trip report. It normally costs about $400/night or 35K points!
Also on the list is the InterContinental Suites Hotel Cleveland for 15K points instead of the usual 30K points.
You can book up to 2 PointBreaks reservations per hotel. There’s no limit to how long each of the stays can be.
IHG PointBreaks now cost 5K, 10K, or 15K points per night, depending on the hotel.
For a limited time only, the Chase IHG Premier card is offering 125,000 points for signing up and spending $3,000 in 3 months. Additionally with this offer you’ll earn a whopping 40 points per dollar at IHG hotels for 12 months. That consists of 25 points per dollar on the card, 10 points per dollar from IHG for the stay, and 5 bonus points per dollar from IHG for being a Platinum elite member, which is automatic for cardholders.
The card comes with an annual certificate good for a free stay in IHG hotels that cost up to 40K points.
IHG points will not expire for as long as you remain a cardholder.

If you have the IHG Premier credit card you’ll also get Platinum status and every 4th award night for free! That means a 4 night stay at a 5K hotel will cost just 15K points or 3,750 points per night!
If you have both the old IHG Select card and the IHG Premier card you’ll get every 4th award night free AND a 10% rebate on award nights!
The new IHG Premier card also comes with free Global Entry/TSA Pre-Check.
IHG normally sells 5,000 points for $67.50 or 1.35 cents per point, but with targeted offers after you login it can be even less.
If those points don’t post instantly you can call IHG to get a points loan based on your purchase confirmation number in order to quickly grab a room. Alternatively you can transfer 5,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points to IHG, though transfers are not instant and it’s a terrible use of Ultimate Rewards points.
If you already have IHG points in your account then you can buy points on the cheap via making a cash and points booking. Be sure to click on the rules during the checkout process to make sure that the room is fully refundable (almost all are).
For example the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Longmont allows you to redeem 5K points and $56 for a night or 10K points and $28 for a night. If you cancel that night you’ll get back 15K total points, so you’ll have effectively purchased 5K points for $28 or 10K points for $56. That 0.56 cents per point.

Is 125K good enough of an offer to use up a 5/24 slot considering devaluations and that I only use hotels for my entire family which requires at least a 1 bedroom suit so the annual certificate does not add all that value

Please note: The old select card DOES NOT give 10% back on redemptions of award stays. That feature was discontinued in July. I know because I just redeemed 80,000 and didn’t receive the 10% and they told me that that the 10% feature from the select card for award stays was just discontinued!
