A few weeks ago Hyatt extended award certificates and more through 12/31/21.
Yesterday Marriott extended certificates and more through 7/31/21.
And today, Hilton announced a number of extensions as well.
Here is a roundup of new and previously announced Hilton extensions:
- Free night awards, whether existing or newly issued, will not expire before 8/31/21.
- AMEX Aspire and Surpass free weekend nights that were previously issued or will be issued by 12/31/21 will be valid on any day of the week.
- AMEX Aspire and Surpass free weekend nights issued from 5/1/20-12/31/20 will be valid for 24 months (rather than 12 months).
- AMEX Aspire and Surpass free weekend nights issued from 1/1/21-12/31/21 will expire on 12/31/22 (rather than 12 months).
- 2019 elite status that was to expire on 3/31/20 will be extended until 3/31/22.
- 2020 elite status that was to expire on 3/31/21 will be extended until 3/31/22.
- All night credits earned in 2020 will rollover for 2021 elite qualification.
- 2021 elite status can be achieved with half the regular number of required nights or points. This means you can earn Gold status with 20 nights, 10 stays, or 37,500 Points instead of 40 nights, 20 stays or 75,000 points, plus all paid and award stays from 2020 and 2021 count. You can earn Diamond status with 30 nights, 15 stays, or 60K Points instead of 60 nights, 30 stays or 120K points, plus all all paid and award stays from 2020 and 2021 count. Gold and diamond status gets free breakfast and more at Hilton hotels. Milestone benefits and elite status gifting will also be achieved with half the regular number of required nights or points.
- Points won’t expire until at least 12/31/21. (Normal policy is 12 months of inactivity).
- Bonus Points earned through purchases on all Hilton American Express Cards, that post to the Card Member’s Hilton Honors account between May 1 through December 31, 2021 will be considered Base Points and will count towards Elite tier qualification and Lifetime Diamond Status. - Get a 100% bonus on purchased points through 12/31/20.

Does the elite status from aspire have a standard expiration date or from when you cancel the card? I’m wondering if it’s possible to cancel card and keep diamond until 3/31/22

Last I spoke to Hilton they had said they can only be ised for weekday nights if staying before 2021. Has that changed? Can they be used for weekday nights until the expire in August 2021?

I usually bump expiring deals the day before or the day they will end.
Any concrete word how rollover nights will factor into milestone bonus next year?
Also quirky if you stay 15 nights in 2020 you wont yet have diamond status until Jan 2021 when they roll over and then you will. Go figure!
