Staples is waiving the $6.95 purchase fee on $200 Visa gift cards through 5/15 in-store only.

Use your Chase Ink Cash Card or Ink Plus card and get 5 points per dollar spent. Office supply stores never charge a fee for retailer gift cards such as Amazon and hundreds more, but these Visa gift cards can be used anywhere!

Buying these gift cards can help you meet the spend threshold to earn the highest ever 75,000 point signup bonus for Ink Cash on top of earning 5 points per dollar spent.

The IRS recently lost a case trying to tax a couple that bought millions of dollars in Visa gift cards, which they subsequently cashed out in order to earn 5% cash back. The court ruled that rebates for gift card purchases are not taxable.

The weekly ad states that there is a limit of 5 per customer per day, though the fee waiver should apply on up to 10 cards per transaction if your store isn’t a stickler for limits.

You can use the gift cards to buy money orders at select grocery stores and gas stations. Just use the last 4 digits of the card as the PIN number to cash them out.

Or you can donate the gift card to charity and get a receipt for the full face value while earning 5 points per dollar.

Or you can give away a gift card as a wedding or Bar Mitzvah gift.

Or you can always use it for everyday spending while earning 5% cash back or even better, 5 Chase Ultimate Rewards points per dollar everywhere!

Can use Amex to reach SUB? Maybe buy $400-600.

Not a good idea, since Staples reports L3 data.

Even for such a small purchase amount?

what is L3 data?

I’m pretty sure Amex gets Level 3 data from Staples, so it would NOT work to meet a minimum spend requirement on an AMEX card.

Even for such a small purchase amount?

Yes, it doesn’t matter what the amount is. If you buy a Visa at Staples, AMEX will know that’s what you bought, and it will most likely NOT count towards your minimum spend.

Dan- where in Cleveland can you still get money orders with these now that Giant Eagle is cash only, and Walmart has been having issues with these as is well-documented?

whats the quickest/best way to liquidate these. besides buying groups. Anyone try adding it to venmo and liquidating it from there?

Venmo is pretty strict on these. I haven’t tried but I doubt it will work on venmo/paypal

Any way for me to do money orders in New York? Can they be used with venmo?

Hello. I would like to have free money. Can you please post clear instructions how to have free money? Thank you.
