I assume you can use these gift cards on amazon?

You can also buy Amazon gift cards anytime from office supply stores.

how risky is it to buy $5-10k+ in visa gc (spread out over a dozen purchases), in terms of account shutdown?

No issues here, ba”h.

that”s a recent dp?

I am pretty sure that Chase has never shut down people for going hard at office supply stores on the Ink card- remember they have a $50k yearly cap on the Ink Plus (no longer available for new signups) and just $25k on the Ink Cash, so they might feel this is adequate. But someone can correct me if I’m wrong and they’ve experienced a shutdown for this.

Can you still get money orders at walmart. I thought all locations had a lock down on them.

BAU at mine. However, my local OM/OD calls Visa for prior authorization on my Ink card and it is always denied. Never a problem at Staples.

In my experience, OD/OM only makes this call on transactions of $500 or greater. Back when you were able to get 2 $15 discounts on one transaction, it made sense to buy $600 in VGC in one transaction (since you’d get $30 total discount, since you were buying $300 twice), and I was always waiting for them to call Visa for a pre-authorization, which was a huge pain. But ever since the limit got reduced to just 1 discount (too bad), it only makes sense to buy $400 at a time, and they never make this call- even if I turnaround and buy another $400 in another transaction however many times they let. It’s the one upside of the reduced limit.

Is there any way to liquidate amazon gift cards bought at office depot 5X chase points.

Yeah buy something….lol

Is the $15 savings applied automatically? Meaning do I need to mention anything at the store?

The savings is automatic.

Anyone know which Walmart in Lakewood allows 4 swipes of MasterCard GCs for an $800 money order? The Walmart I usually go to for this – their money order machine is temporarily out of business.

Seems that you can’t use MC GCs at Walmarts anymore to buy money orders. All the Walmarts I called told me they don’t do this anymore. Now I have 13 $200 GCs and can’t buy MOs. Anyone know of any Walmarts that still do this, or have any ideas how to liquidate a lot of cards? I don’t have that many small purchases coming up!
