Alaska Will Award At Least 10,000 Miles For Each Round-Trip International Partner Award Flight This Year!

Alaska’s miles are quite valuable and they still award miles based on flight distances. However they only award miles for a percentage of the flown distance, based on the fare class.

With this promo, they will award at least 5,000 miles each way when flying on Aer Lingus, British Airways, Cathay Pacific, Condor, EL AL Israel Airlines, Emirates, Fiji Airways, Finnair, Hainan Airlines, Icelandair, Japan Airlines, Korean Air, LATAM Airlines, Qantas and Singapore Airlines flights between North America and a non-North America destination between March 1 and December 31, 2020.

North America is defined as the United States, Canada, Mexico, and the Caribbean for this promo.

Bonus miles added to reach the 5,000 mile minimum do not count toward elite status qualification and it can take four to six weeks for miles to be credited to your Mileage Plan account.

For example, say you buy a flight on El Al from Newark to Tel Aviv from 3/1-3/9 for $878 in U class:

You can check how many Alaska miles you would normally earn for flying El Al here, U class will earn 25% of flown miles:

And you can check the distance of your flights here:

As you will fly 11,384 miles in U class at a rate of 25% of flown miles, you would normally earn 2,846 miles round-trip.

But with this promo you’ll earn 10,000 miles round-trip after Alaska adds 7,154 bonus miles!

Or if you’re flying from JFK to Iceland in H and O class:

You can check how many Alaska miles you would normally earn for flying Icelandair here, H and O class will earn 50% of flown miles:

And you can check the distance of your flights here:

As you will fly 5,185 miles in H/O class at a rate of 50% of flown miles, you would normally earn 2,593 miles round-trip.

But with this promo you’ll earn 10,000 miles round-trip after Alaska adds 7,407 bonus miles!

Do you credit your partner flights to Alaska miles?

If I already bought El Al tickets for pesach, how do I get Alaska credit??

Eric B

No, it’s 5,000 miles MINIMUM each way. So they are rounding up to 5,000, not ADDING 5,000 miles on top.

Joey

Would this work for an NY to London flight on AA?

el

can i retroactively credit elal flight to alaska?

Joey

March 1st hasn’t happened yet…

united

yes you can, as long as it was after July 1, 2019, when they started their partnership with Elal. You will not get this promotion of 5k per flight, because it’s only for flights after March 1.
Just email the info to mileage.plan@alaskaair.com with your Alaska mileage number and the confirmation/booking reference, (and a copy of the boarding pass if you still have it)

Thank you. Just did

I have El Al tickets in Business Class. Will I get more?

Yocheved

I have british Airways miles. What happens if I use those miles?

Josh

Does round trip travel have to be completed by Dec 31?

Nolad

I used Qantas miles for an El Al flight this upcoming July.
Would I be able to give my Alaska FF# to either El Al or Qantas and get credited?

dumb question

If I buy ElAl tickets via Alaska for a trip in the proper timeframe, can I get the miles credited to matmid? The bonus miles? If yes, at what ration?

J

California is like another country. I should get this bonus for my trip on AA there in May.

Sam

I am traveling fro JFK to Italy on British Airways, BUT the ticket was purchased thru American Airlines, could I still claim this Bonus ?

That’s violating the rules intentionally.
Don’t complain if it boomerangs on you.

Amit

Do you know if the trip origin must be North America? Or North America could be the destination?

Mendy

@Dan, I just flew Elal this past month, and I lost my boarding passes, do you know if there is anyway to still get miles for my trip? Also, what’s the best partner airline to get miles on?

Thanks for your help.
