You can pay some of the $351 fee with points if you want to, but not sure if you can do it with this points promo. On a regular basis, you can.

Could this work as a one way from tlv?

If you put in valid dates, (I tried from NYC to Tel Aviv this morning) it will show up as 350 points each way (instead of 700). You have to search by matmid award and have a valid matmid # and password.

HAS points can be transferred.

I was trying for a 1 way from Tel Aviv to New York in March and I didn’t see any at half points.

For HAS cards-which I know Dan doesn’t like (started on it awhile back before I knew you existed) you can also deduct $150 in fuel surchage by adding additional 12,000 pts–as per HAS rep I spoke to last week-cutting the cost down to $200–maybe there is a correlate program by adding points using MR pts to do the same thing.

DF: as of august, ELAL told me that one can change the date on a ticketed seat with no change fee as long as it’s avail for the same amount of bonus points & not within 72 hours of flight’s departure. but call them just to make sure. 212-852-0700. of course, the dates you end up changing to may no longer have availability for the reduced mileage!

Dan or anybody, you say in your post that this promotion is also between toronto to TLV but elal agent says flight needs to originate from New York and cannot be issued from Toronto. Can you please clarify?

The deadline to purchase is today to qualify for the 50% special. It takes 10 business days to transfer HAS points to Matmid. Anyone know of any way to have it done same day? I have all the credit I need, but I’m 390 Matmid points short of my 3 tickets, and I have to transfer my HAS credit to complete the difference. I know I waited until the last day, but even from the beginning of the promotion, elal didn’t give enough time to transfer points!
