Why this offer is truly incredible:

The 90,000 point bonus offers on the Chase Ink Cash and Chase Ink Unlimited are truly unprecedented and will be ending very soon.

While some cards have mega bonuses, there are typically caveats attached such as:

  • Points that are locked down to one airline, where they can be devalued without notice.
  • A high annual fee.
  • A high spending threshold to earn those points.

What makes this offer unique is that:

  • You earn Chase Ultimate Rewards points, which are the most valuable and versatile points around. You can cash them out or if you have a premium Chase card, use them for paid travel or transfer them into valuable airline miles and hotel points.
  • There are no annual fees for these cards. There has never been an offer this rich for cards without an annual fee, ever!
  • You only need to spend $6,000 in 3 months, a fraction of the spending required for some mega bonuses.
  • There are many reports of people who are over 5/24 getting instantly approved.
  • There are no limits to how often you can earn the bonus on Ink cards.

When you’re done spending $6,000 of spending on Chase Ink Unlimited you’ll have 99,000 points.

When you’re done spending $6,000 of spending on Chase Ink Cash you’ll have between 96,000-120,000 points, depending on where you spend.

If you and your spouse each signup for both of these (there’s typically just one credit pull for 2 cards on the same day) and meet the spend thresholds, you’ll have between 390,000-438,000 points!

My wife and I did a lot more than that as we also opened Ink PreferredInk Premier, and Hyatt Business cards.

What can you do with 438,000 points from 4 cards?

There are lots of great point transfer options.

With Ink Business Preferred, Chase Sapphire Preferred, or Chase Sapphire Reserve you can transfer points into airline miles and hotel points. You can combine points between all Chase Ultimate Rewards cards and between family members or business partners.

There are endless possibilities for point redemptions, but here are 30 in no particular order:

You can redeem 438K points for $4,380 in cash

I hope you don’t, but the option is available if you just want to take the cash and run.

Sapphire Reserve Or Ink Preferred Cardholders can use 438K points to get $5,694

Pay Yourself Back is now a permanent feature of the Ultimate Rewards program. Point values and categories rotate.

With Chase Ink Unlimited and Chase Ink Cash you can offset select purchases at a value of 1.1 cents each via Pay Yourself Back

With Chase Sapphire Reserve or Ink Business Preferred you can offset select purchases at a value of 1.25 cents each via Pay Yourself Back.

If you transfer Chase points earned to your or your spouse’s premium cards, you can take advantage of the increased points value.

The current categories for Ink cards are internet, cable, phone services and shipping through at least 3/31.

The  current categories for Sapphire Reserve are gas stations and groceries, and the card’s annual fee through at least 3/31.

A great feature of the program is that you keep the original points that the purchase earned, even though you paid yourself back for the purchase. That means your points will be worth more than 1.1 or 1.25 cents each!

In other words, if you spend $300 on wireless or internet charges on Ink Cash, you can use 27,272 points to offset that purchase and make it free. Plus, you’ll still earn the 1,500 points for the charges as you earn 5 points per dollar spent, so you effectively used 25,772 points to offset the purchase. That means your points were actually worth 1.16 cents each!

If you spend $300 on wireless or internet charges on Ink Preferred, you can use 24,000 points to offset that purchase and make it free. Plus, you’ll still earn the 900 points for the charges as you earn 3 points per dollar spent, so you effectively used 23,100 points to offset the purchase. That means your points were actually worth 1.3 cents each!

Use 438K points to book $6,570 in travel

With Ink Business Preferred or Chase Sapphire Preferred you can book travel at a value of 1.25 cents each and with Chase Sapphire Reserve you can book travel at a value of 1.5 cents each.

You can book airfare, hotels, car rentals, or travel activities redeemed via the Chase travel portal at a value of 1.25-1.5 cents per point.

You can save tons of miles this way when redeeming for inexpensive coach flights.

For example if you want to fly from Newark to Fort Lauderdale or Miami on March 28th you can pay $65 for basic economy, or $95 for standard economy.

Or you can use 8.3K United miles for standard economy:

If you have a Sapphire Reserve card you can use 4.3K Chase points for basic economy or 6.3K Chase points for standard economy. You would also earn miles for the flight and not owe any taxes.

If you want to fly from Newark to Los Angeles on April 11th you can pay $128 for basic economy, or $168 for standard economy.

Or you can use 15K United miles for standard economy:

If you have a Sapphire Reserve card you can use 8.5K Chase points for basic economy or 11.1K Chase points for standard economy. You would also earn miles for the flight and not owe any taxes.

If you want to fly in Polaris Business Class from Newark to Tel Aviv, fares start at $3,293 round-trip.

With United miles departing on July 11th for example, you would need 177.4K miles one-way:

If you have a Sapphire Reserve card you can use 219.4K Chase points for the round-trip in business class, for example from July 11-19. You would also earn miles for the flight and not owe any taxes.

By comparing the rates charged in the Chase portal and directly when using airline miles you can decide which option is the most valuable.

Transfer points to United to book domestic awards

With Ink Business Preferred, Chase Sapphire Preferred, or Chase Sapphire Reserve you can transfer points into airline miles and hotel points. You can combine points between all Chase Ultimate Rewards cards and between family members or business partners.

A one-way flight from Cleveland to LA on March 29th will set you back some $359:

If you have a Sapphire Reserve card you can use 23.9K Chase points for the one-way.

However you can transfer just 15K points to United miles to book the same flight:

And premium United cardholders can redeem just 11.6K miles to book the same flight:

That’s a value of 3.09 cents per point, which would make your 438K points worth $13,534!

Plus, when you use United miles, you can always cancel your travel plans for a full refund!

Transfer to British Airways for 73 international awards or 58 domestic awards

You can fly short hauls like London-Milan, Hong Kong to Taiwan, Melbourne to Sydney, and between most cities within Europe for 6K Avios.

You can fly between New York and short-haul routes like Boston, Cleveland, Detroit, Montreal, Pittsburgh, or Toronto, or between Miami and the Bahamas or Cancun on OneWorld partners Alaska or American for 7.5K Avios. Plus you can cancel awards and get back your miles for just the cost of the taxes paid, which is $5.60 for domestic one-way flights.

A close in one-way flight between Cleveland and NYC runs $404 each way:

But you can transfer 7.5K points to BA to book the same flights:

That’s a value you can get a value of 5.39 cents per point, which would make your 438K points worth $23,594!

Transfer to British Airways for 26 lie-flat first class awards between NYC and Miami

American flies 777s with lie flat first class seats between NYC and Miami.

Sure, you can redeem 9K Avios in coach, but for 16.5K Avios, you can fly in lie-flat first class seats with 2 free checked bags while sipping free Woodford Reserve and premium snacks:

These flights sell for about $700 one-way, giving you a value of more than 4.2 cents per point, which would make your 104K points worth more than $2,500!

Transfer to BA Or Iberia for 12 Transatlantic business class awards

You can now book Iberia flights across the pond with BA or Iberia Avios with low fuel surcharges. NYC to Madrid for 34K Avios in business class is a steal!

Transfer to Aer Lingus for 8 Transatlantic business class awards or 33 economy awards

You can travel on Aer Lingus with Avios across the pond, but you won’t want to book that with BA Avios due to fuel surcharges:

Instead, transfer the Avios to Aer Lingus and book on Avios.com to save a bundle:

You can transfer to BA for 6 QSuites awards

Qatar QSuites is one of the highest rated business class products around. They can be configured into a closed suite for 1, 2, or even 4 passengers! They even provide delicious Hermolis kosher meals onboard!

And yes, travel on Qatar and stopping over in Doha is safe for religious Jews.

Qatar Qsuites

You can book it for 70K Avios:

You can use the award space to visit bucket list destinations, such as the Maldives, Seychelles, South Africa, and more.

Transfer to Air France for 34 Promo Award Flights To Europe

…Transfer 69K miles to Air France to fly on Delta:

Transfer to Virgin Atlantic for an ANA First Class Suite To Japan

Redeeming Virgin Atlantic miles for ANA business class or first class suites is still a bargain.

I reviewed the old suite here towards the end of the 4th part of my Island Hopper adventure.

ANA Whisky offering from Tokyo to JFK, May 2015

  • A business class award between Hawaii and Japan is 35K miles each way.
  • A business class award between the US west coast and Japan is 45K miles each way.
  • A business class award between the US east coast and Japan is 47.5K miles each way.
  • A first class award between Hawaii and Japan is 57.5K miles each way.
  • A first class award between the US west coast and Japan is 72.5K miles each way.
  • A first class award between the US east coast and Japan is 85K miles each way.

Unfortunately, you do need to call Virgin Atlantic to book travel on ANA at 800-365-9500. You can search for ANA award space on United.com.

You can fly in ANA first class to Tokyo/Narita from Chicago, Houston, JFK, Los Angeles, San Francisco, or Washington DC.

You can fly in ANA first class to Tokyo/Haneda from Chicago, JFK, or Los Angeles.

ANA has new first class suites and business class suites that look amazing!

New ANA First, with a 43″ 4K LED, a door for privacy, multiple windows, and more:

The middle seats have a partition for privacy that goes up and down so that companions can talk to each other:

New ANA business:

Business class is staggered with forward and rear facing seats that also have privacy doors and middle partitions that go up and down:

Transfer points to United to fly in business class

United charges 60K miles for saver business class awards to Europe. United Polaris has direct aisle access for every business class seat. You can choose from solo seats or seats for people traveling together.

The may be cheaper partner airlines to book with, such as Air Canada for 55K miles, but United allows for free changes and cancellations, which is a valuable feature.

With Saks Fifth Avenue bedding and pillows, a mattress pad, a gel cooled pillow, slippers, and pajamas, you’ll sleep like a king!

United 777-300 Polaris Class

Transfer to Air Canada for 73 flights on United in coach or 29 in first class

A last minute flight between NYC and Pittsburgh will set you back some $474.

Even if you have a Sapphire Reserve card, that would set you back some 31,600 points.

You can redeem 15K United miles for that flight in coach or 27.8K miles in first class:

Or you can transfer points to Air Canada, which charges just 6K points in coach or 15K points in first class:

Transfer to Singapore for a suite between JFK and Frankfurt

You can fly in Singapore suites class from JFK to Frankfurt for 97K miles one-way. This is truly an aspirational award and Singapore service is second to none. If you and a spouse open a Sapphire Preferred you would have more than enough miles to get a couples suite!

You’ll even have access to the Virgin Clubhouse in JFK with good kosher meals as well.

You can read my trip report on flying Singapore to Paris here.

These flights sell for about $7,000 one-way, giving you a value of more than 8.1 cents per point, which would make your 104K points worth more than $8,400!

Fly In Emirates First Class Shower Suites

You can transfer Chase points to Emirates to book a flight you’ll never forget.

Emirates has even opened their own kosher kitchen in Dubai to provide higher quality kosher meals!

Emirates A380 first class is affectionately known as “Shower Class.” Sure, you get your own walled-in suite and access to the onboard bar…

But it’s the onboard shower that sets it apart. My review of the experience can be found here.

A one-way first class award from NYC to Milan/Athens is 102K miles+$104 or from JFK to Dubai is 163.5K miles+$837.

Transfer to Singapore for a business class seat on the longest flight in the world

Singapore Airlines flies the longest commercial flight in the world from Newark or JFK to Singapore. The 9,534 mile flight takes a whopping 18.5 hours to fly!

For 111.5K miles you can book a seat in business class, which is their highest cabin on this route.

In 2013 I redeemed 60K United miles to fly business class from Cleveland-Newark-Singapore-Maldives. Back then the flight was operated by an A340-500 with 100 business class seats. There were no other classes of service on the flight back then. It was an excellent way to get to the Maldives.

What did I think of the 19 hour flight?

You can read the trip report here, but in short, I loved it.

Business class seat from Newark-Singapore, February 2013:

The problem with flights to Europe in premium cabins is that there’s not enough time to enjoy a meal and still get a good night’s sleep.

On this flight there was plenty of time for me to eat, drink some wine and scotch, surf the web, watch Argo, get a full night’s sleep, eat again, watch Lincoln, and then land in Singapore.

In fact Singapore served 3 separate kosher meals on the flight. The plane was split into 3 sections and I was one of the only passengers in my section, giving the flight an almost private jet feel.

Business class seat from Newark-Singapore, February 2013:

I emailed Singapore inquiring if they can get kosher wine on the flight and they fulfilled the request and got kosher wine for me!

I’ve flown Singapore in economy, business, and suites class and the service has always been impeccable. The flight attendants seem to know exactly when to bring you another glass of seltzer and when to leave you alone. It’s my favorite airline to fly in any class of service.

I had ordered Sesame Chicken from New Kosher Special with free delivery to Newark Airport and the flight attendants were happy to store it for me in a fridge and warm it up double-wrapped (BYOK FTW!).

The sign of a great flight is when you’re sad to have it end. And even after a 19 hour flight, I was sad to have to deplane. Though I sure enjoyed the showers in the Singapore lounge.

Transfer miles to BA for 8 flights from the West Coast to any Hawaiian Island

You can fly from the west coast nonstop to Hawaii on AA or Alaska for just 13K Avios each way.

Transfer points to Hyatt for incredible hotel values

While other brands have eliminated their award charts, Hyatt has retained them and a valuable point structure.

That means a hotel that goes for $2,500 a night can be had for 40K Hyatt points, as opposed to say 150,000 Hilton points. That’s a potential value of 6.25 cents per point, which would make your 438K points worth $27,375!

Best of all, when you redeem Hyatt points you don’t have to pay any hotel resort fees or taxes!

If you have a Chase World Of Hyatt Card or Hyatt Business Card there are often rebates on award stays, which can make your points even more valuable.

Where can you stay? You’ll need about 40K points for a category 8 hotel like the Norman Tel Aviv, Park Hyatt ParisSydney, or New York or the Andaz Maui, where paid rates can cost more than $2,000/night. It’s also valid for SLH hotels like the Ventana Big Sur, which is all-inclusive and will even buy you 3 kosher meals a day from the local Chabad House! View category 8 hotels here.

Redeem for Hyatt suites and premium suites

Hyatt allows you to redeem points for suites and premium suites online and there are some incredible bargains on amazing suites that normally cost thousands of dollars per night. See this post for sample deals!

Transfer to JetBlue points

There are no outsized values to be had with JetBlue, but you will get a decent value per point towards award travel.

For example a flight from Newark to Fort Lauderdale on 4/18 is $94.90 or 5,600 points+$5.60 in standard economy. That’s a value of 1.59 cents per point.

Transfer to Southwest points

There are no aspirational awards with Southwest, but you will get a decent value per point towards award travel and as always you get 2 free checked bags.

For example a flight from Los Angeles to Las Vegas on 4/16 is $44.98 or 2,323 points+$5.60. That’s a value of 1.7 cents per point.

Southwest also runs promotions that give additional value to their points. For example that Los Angeles to Las Vegas flight is on sale for just 1,858 points, a value of 2.42 cents per point!

Southwest also often has free changes where you can change to more expensive dates for free and if prices drop, you can always cancel and rebook.

Stay In An Overwater Bungalow In The Maldives

Chase points normally transfer 1:1 to Marriott, but are currently 1:1.5 through 5/15!

A 5 night stay in a villa in the Maldives can be had starting at 196K Marriott points at hotels like the Le Meridien MaldivesRitz-Carlton MaldivesW Maldives, or S. Regis Maldives, where you can often get outsized value for your points. I’ve stayed at the latter 2 and they are heaven on Earth!

Stay In An Overwater Bungalow In Bora Bora

An overwater bungalow at the InterContinental Bora Bora Resort Thalasso Spa goes for over $2,000/night, but it can be booked for 120,000 IHG points. You can transfer those from Chase, though IHG also sells points for as low as 0.5 cents each.

Stay In A Dubai Bedouin Suite, With All-Inclusive Kosher Food

Chase points normally transfer 1:1 to Marriott, but are currently 1:1.5 through 5/15!

5 nights at The Al Maha Dubai Resort, which has villas with private pools as their base room, all meals (even kosher meals!) included and 2 daily desert activities included can be had for 346K points. Paid rates for 5 nights range from $7,500-$12,500, making for an exceptional value.

Transfer points to Virgin Atlantic to Fly Only Delta Israel

Instead of using 60K Delta miles to fly to Israel:

Transfer to Virgin Atlantic where you can book awards on Delta to Israel for just 35K miles each way:

Transfer to United for the excursionist perk

While American and Delta have eliminated free stopovers, United continues to offer a free excursionist perk as described in this post. Just use the multi-city award search on United.com to piece it together.

A round-trip to 2 Hawaiian Islands is just 45,000 miles round-trip thanks to the free excursionist perk:

A round-trip ticket to 2 European or South American cities is just 60,000 miles round-trip thanks to the free excursionist perk:

A flight to 2 of my favorite cities in Asia, Hong Kong and Chiang Mai, Thailand is 80K miles thanks to the perk:

You’re even allowed a free open jaw in addition to the perk to really maximize your travel. For example this itinerary includes travel to London, Paris, and Zurich. You can take a train or use 4.5K BA Avios to get from London to Paris to fill the hole in the open jaw:

Of course the free stopover isn’t just useful from the US.

You can stopover in NYC and LA when flying from Tel Aviv to the US:

If you find yourself in Japan you can fly on the island hopper to 2 cities in Micronesia (I’ve been hankering to get back to Palau since the moment I left) for 30K miles:

You can also hack the excursionist perk for even more value.

You can use the multi-city search to book 2 flights within a single region and then you can book a free one-way within any other region sandwiched in between your flights.

For example if you book a round-trip from Cleveland to Chicago for 6,240 miles you can add in a free Excursionist Perk flight anywhere else in the world in between your flights, such as onboard the United Island Hopper from Palau to Kosrae via Guam, Chuuk, and Pohnpei, a flight that costs $598 or 12.5K miles on its own:

Or if you book a one-way flight from Cleveland to Chicago and then Chicago to Kansas City for 6,240 miles you can add in a free Excursionist Perk flight anywhere else in the world in between your flights, such as Johannesburg to the Seychelles, a flight that costs $473 or 19.5K miles on its own.

Bid on United exclusive experiences

United auctions off some incredible experiences with their miles.

Until I tossed the first pitch before game 7 of the 2016 World Series I thought that my coolest use of miles was redeeming 25K United miles to steal 2nd base in middle of the 7th inning.

Another reader then bought their son a Bar Mitzvah present that he’ll never forget with their United miles.

And then I bought a piece of a 747-400 with United miles:

If you, a member in your household, or an authorized user has one of the following Chase cards, you can transfer points into miles:

Is the suite class (Singapore) 97K per person or per couple?

Is there a website where I can plug in my dates and airports and it can show me best point options via transfer etc. This is lot of information and can get complicated.

Danfan

There are some, but they all cost a monthly fee, with no free trial, and they are all quite limited, if you in any case want to check them out, try awardlogic.com or point.me, if you are kind of an expert (I mean really an expert), you can use expertflyer.com (has most airlines) or seatspy.com
Good luck

Sam

Great article
Besides the virgin/delta transfer for flying to TLV what’s the cheapest to get to TLV with miles in coach

Danfan

When united has saver award availability in economy, you have some great options, including Aeroplan, Turkish, or united itself.

Danfan

I find the only real hit with chase points is united (as in airline), most other airlines are transferable from amex, capital one or citi, especially turkish which has wonderful redemption rates.

dave

Hey Dan, what would be the cheapest way to get to israel with chase points?

Going Athens to nyc

Great post!
I don’t have a premium travel Chase card.
Does this mean I cannot use any transfer offers, or it just means I won’t get 1.5 miles?

Going Athens to nyc, any recommendations?

sam

which airline programs are still a fixed rate for domestic flights? are they all based off the online price?

Moishe

You wrote that we can transfer points to Hilton and get extra points through Virgin Atlantic…please explain in detail how this is done…thanks

Aaron

Amazing and very detailed post. Thanks! Am I doing something wrong if I never (really never) see any delta flights bookable through Air France or Virgin?
Also, is there any post which focuses on how to best book the TLV/NYC route with points?

Ely

Can you explain what you mean that you are able to transfer points to business partners? Do we each open our own business account or and can then transfer back and forth or does it have o be one account with an authorized user? How then would we be able to transfer to our own sapphire reserve cards to get the 1.5?
