For a limited time only, Marriott is accepting status match requests.
They will accept requests from Accor, Hilton, Hyatt, and IHG elites.
- Accor Gold or Hyatt Explorist members can match to Marriott Gold.
- Accor Platinum or Diamond, Hilton Gold or Diamond, Hyatt Globalist, or IHG Platinum or Spire elite members can match to Marriott Platinum.
You’ll get the elevated Marriott status within a few days upon approval. You will need to upload proof of status and at least 1 stay in the past 12 months. In other words, while you can get status from cards like Hilton,Ā Hyatt, and IHG, you’ll need to have made 1 stay with that chain to enroll in this status challenge.
You’ll have 90 days from when you’re approved with the higher status to stay 5 nights in a Marriott hotel to retain Gold status or 15 nights in a Marriott hotel to retain Platinum status through 2/28/22. Otherwise you’ll be downgraded to your current Marriott status after 90 days.
Only paid nights booked directly with Marriott will count for the status challenge.

No. They do count for regular elite status, but not for a status match challenge.

1) There is no end date listed for enrollment. Based on past promotions, do we know if this will last days or weeks?
2) Platinum seems to come with Lounge/breakfast. Are they similar to Hyatt top tier with Kosher accommodation when possible?

2. They are not as accommodating as Hyatt, but YMMV as always based on the hotel.

So getting IHG platinum status and staying one night to match is no problem. But then 15 paid nights in 90 days it a stretch… What is the value of Marriott platinum status? Iām trying to put this in perspective so any insight would be helpful. Is this really just for the enhanced upgrades? Not sure itās worth paying for nights I wouldnāt normally pay for to get it. Any thoughts from the peanut gallery?

i tried to sign up for this twice, but both times got email reply that its not accepted. what am i doing wrong? i submitted my Hilton Diamond card as well as a screenshot from my hilton account showing a stay in October 2019 (less than a year ago)
