CLEAR is amazing.
It allows you to skip to the front of the security line when you fly. If you also have PreCheck you can skip to the front of the PreCheck line and if you don’t have PreCheck you can skip to the front of the regular line.
You don’t need to take out your ID either, your fingerprint or your eyes act as your ID.
The dependability that skipping the line gives you is simply amazing. It means I can leave my house just 55 minutes before a flight, drive 25-30 minutes to the airport, and know that I won’t miss my flight out of CLE. When I’m with my family I’ll leave plenty of time and enjoy the airport lounge, but if I’m solo, the less wasted time in the airport is always a win.
CLEAR also works for sports stadiums. I’ve used it to skip the line at Progressive Field, which is a nice bonus on top of skipping the lines at the airport.
I used CLEAR at Hertz in Fort Lauderdale airport in January when we were in a rush to make it to a Bris. As a President’s Circle member using points I jumped into the waiting convertible and used the CLEAR lane to breeze out of the rental car garage in just seconds! It took us just 14 minutes from landing to make it on time to the bris in Hollywood.
Hertz Gold Plus Rewards members pay $129/year for CLEAR airport access, but you can pay less with airline memberships. You can add those memberships later by contacting CLEAR.

When’s the deadline to sign up so I can get my 6 months, I don’t have any travel planned anytime soon ?
Also, is hertz extending current President status for 2021 as I do not think I will earn it this year ?
Unknown, but between the Hertz bonus months and the 3 COVID bonus months, this seems like a good deal if you’ll travel this year or the beginning of next year. Otherwise, hold off and see what else comes up.

Ye i got a email saying that there extending my status till 2022
I had it through Hertz-flew around 20 times every time I used it, it took longer then precheck…..
Considering you can use it to skip to the front of Precheck, that doesn’t make much sense.
Precheck lines are empty most times I fly… clear still has issues when reading your prints or eyes and I have gotten stopped for a verification ID after clear which I am told happens occasionally …when I used it the ppl who entered the precheck line at the same time ended up before me on the security line…
Its saved me at least 10-15 at times in Orlando when the precheck lines were long.
While on this topic, there were times when the regular lines at TSA moved quicker then precheck. I still enjoy keeping my shoes on.

Did you just jump into a convertible available in the PC lot, or was it actually waiting for you? Is there a way to reserve a specific luxury car with PC without just getting what’s available? (I have PC but have never used at an airport)
I reserved a convertible with points. Didn’t want to waste time haggling for an upgrade on a 1 day rental when we only had 12 minutes from scheduled landing to the bris start time 😀

By adding airlines later, you’re able to get a refund on part of the annual price? I have delta consumer gold.
Also, by the option to upgrade my “free” (basic) clear account through Hertz Gold membership, it only says 2 month trial. Will it automatically add months? And lastly, is it added months after the year, or 6 free trial months?
Does one membership work for the whole family or does everyone have to have their own membership?

i canceled, getting pro rated money back.then chatted and got 3 month extension added to hertz deal which gave me free plan until February.
Hi Dan i already have a free trial with them for 7 months and didn’t use my PC offer can I still use to extend my subscription or is it only for new members
If I read the announcement correctly Clear is not available in Cleveland, Newark, and JFK so I do not see the value of the offer.
ive emailed hertz twice about matching. no response
I used the form https://pub.emails.hertz.com/Hertz_Status_Match on or about 5/20, still no response or change in status.
Hertz finally upgraded my status, but I did not link my accounts yet. Based on what Dan wrote in a recent roundup, it would seem that it’s too late now and the deal is dead. Is it dead?
