Last year I wrote about reciprocal benefits between American and Hyatt:

  • AA elites earn 1 AA mile for every eligible dollar spent at qualifying Hyatt properties.
  • AA top-tier ConciergeKey members will receive top-tier World of Hyatt Globalist status.
  • Hyatt elites earn 1 Hyatt point mile for every eligible dollar spent on qualifying American flights.

Additionally many Hyatt Globalists, myself included, were given AA Executive Platinum status.

You can link your AA and Hyatt account here on AA.com or here on Hyatt.com.

Starting today for linked members you can register for a challenge to earn reciprocal elite status. You can take advantage of these challenges once per year, so only register when it’s most advantageous for you to do so.

The World of Hyatt credit card is an excellent card and comes with 50,000 points in addition to annual free nights, elite status, and promotions. You can read more about the World of Hyatt card here. Cardholders also get bonus points for staying at Hyatt hotels and can earn elite status through spending.

Sam

Do they give temporary elite status with AA while completing the challenge?

Doug

I won’t bother….. AA status sucks, especially their ridiculous 500 mile segment BS.
