Just opened an account today. Simple and fast.

Do you need to open new account to get higher rate or will old savings adjust automatically?

I just checked and it didn’t adjust automatically. My rate is still 0.87% … Ganovim!

Close it and open a new one.

You need their Savings Connect account to receive the 2.4%. Yours is most likely the Savings Builder account.

I tried to open an account and this was the email that I got this morning…

“Thank you for your recent interest in opening an account with CIT Bank. We regret to inform you that after a thorough review of your application, we have elected to not open a bank account for you at this time. We wish you the best of luck in your search for your banking needs.”

Any thoughts as to why?
