United and I have had our issues with their award calendar. When they launched their new site they decided to exclude the ability to limit award searches to nonstop award flights only.
I beta tested their site and provided feedback and blogged about my disappointment. Later I campaigned to get United to reconsider and bring back that functionality. And to their credit, they did indeed bring it back.
United launched a new award calendar today and I’m not sure how I feel about it:
The lines means there are saver coach awards, the dots mean there are saver business/first awards.
At first glance it seems to be harder to process than the old one. I think I’d rather see a color difference than lines and dots. But perhaps that’s just because I’m so used to using the old calendar:

As a periodical user the colors confused me. I haven’t tried this yet but I think I like the idea.
Isn’t the calendar wrong though? It seems to indicate a business saver ticket should be available for August 1st but it only shows coach

But of course, the whole thing is only useful if it’s accurate…
@Mahyar: there is saver award for that day just not on the non stop flight, which is the first flight displayed.
@Mahyar: The business saver availability is probably on a European airlines further down the page. Maybe ask Dan to scroll down 😛

You write to provide feedback. As if UA ever listened to our feedback! As I said before. If it is not broken, don’t fix it!
It appears from the dots & lines to show that both eco & prem seats have saver awards, but it only gives the eco saver in the chart below, & shows no availablilty for business class saver awards. Doesn’t make sense.
The old award schedule required you to figure out (and this from an expert) the color you needed, then match it to what was available. I’m not sure that this will be easier, but I’ll get used to it.
The old chart often displayed inaccurate award availability, indicating that certain saver awards were NOT available on certain days, when in fact there were. Does the new chart have the same glitch?

Same glitch. It’s most accurate when searching nonstop only and you start from the home page.

HATE IT!!!! How can we get them to put it back??
It gives a clearer pic if are looking either economy or business saver award, but the dot is not so friendly when you look maybe they should of made 2 color in the box or change to easier color line and dots that has economy & business saver award – as the line and dot is to strong for my eyes- But for sure easier to search for trips.
